Link directly to cams.com or make a co-branded site?

Thinking about getting more serious about pushing traffic to cam shows, and was wondering how everyone is doing.

Now that Lars is pushing the CAMS.COM brand as much as possible because it's a very easy to remember URL, is there a point to using the co-branded cams anymore? I know if I use co-branded cams, my surfers will have to go through my site everyday because they won't know any other place that offers those cams. But with CAMS.COM getting more known everyday, and because it's so easy to type that you don't even have to add it to your favorites, if they ever stumble upon CAMS.COM, they'll tell me to sod off and won't go through my site again. If they never signed up for free through my co-branded site up to that point, that's less customer for me.

On the other hand, if I push traffic to CAMS.COM with my ref code in it, there's a very big chance I won't get credited for sales because surfers rarely signup for free on their first visit. Next time they decide to visit (with a good chance they cleared the cookies/history/cache), they'll just type-in the CAMS.COM URL and I won't get credited. Again, less customers for me. Less chances of catching a whale.

So while using the CAMS.COM URL is very good to make the site grow and get more models and customers, there's a big chance a ton of surfers are gonna know about the site by word of mouth and are gonna signup to it without crediting any webmaster. The domain is too bloody easy to remember and type-in, that's the problem lol. :)

How is everyone here currently pushing cams.com?
Your thoughts on this?

Interesting. Can I see that script in action?

And you might want to update that page. From what I could tell, the free promo ended on August 31st.

I'm using the java plug in. It seems to be working okay. I plan on adding a bunch of pages linking direct to join later this week.

what's the code to link directly to join?

Code to free signup:
http://yourcobrandsite/layout0/newac...jsp?Ref=yourID

I've had better results with a co-brand. YMMV :2 cents:

Jarmusch, when the surfer signs up for the free account after coming in through your refcode, then you are forever tied to that account. And they do have to sign up for free to see any cams. (But it really is free). So there's no cookies involved that way.

We're extending because of some promo being published later, thanks for the heads up.

Not really, you can see any cam without logging in. You can't chat, and the page refreshes to the join page after a few minutes, but you can see it without signing up.

I know once a customer signs up through my ref code, he's mine for life. However, very few sign up on their first visit from the little I've seen so far. If they type cams.com on the next visit, you lost them.

Or maybe link directly to the join page, but put a text explaining it really is free to signup, and they'll only be able to chat with the girls after they signup. Might try that.

ah, I should have double checked before I opened my mouth. Thanks for the correction.

Cobrands are easy to set up, and you can even use your own domain/DNS if you want, if you have a cool URL you want to use. ICQ me if you have any other questions, I'm here all day. :)
