Somehow i find myself a trifle ignorant on the topic, as i've never studied irish or scottish history.

lol. You need to study Geography as well as History.

I think you'll find it's Belfast to start with, in Northern Ireland. A good 1000+ miles away from Belgrade in one of the ex-Yugoslavian Republics (I think Serbia).

You need to study about 400+ years of European History.
