What is the easiest way to make changes on indexpages on the server without downloading and re-uploading to my pc??

Does this not require you to download then upload or at least fix the issue then upload? This does not sound like a fix to your dilemma.

Yes and no :) Cute downloads it then you edit it and when you save it cute auto uploads it so it feels like all you did was edit it ;)
