How many popunder visitors do you think I need to buy before I start to make a sale? What is the likely signup ratio?

depends on the landing page, but the conversion generally sucks.
you need to buy 10-20k to test.

I've bought 10,000 and I am hoping for at least one sale..

with this kind of traffic you need high volumes, 100k and up
and a nice landing page.
and even then the profit margins are pretty low.

Popunder traffic is not best suited for sending directly to a paysite tour, and as such, is better for feeding trading sites. Well put together TGPs/MGPs seem to be a good filter for console traffic.

If you're testing *any* type of traffic for conversions, I wouldn't buy any less than $100, and even that's not enough.
