What do you think is the value of a forum/community with 10k full users, 6k of them were active in the last month at last count. the forum is mainly for 15-30 year old asians.

the value equals last years revenue. anything over that figure is considered goodwill.

A lot would have to depend on what the forum subject is and the demographic of the members.

But I would have thought that would have been obvious.

How many posts per day? How active are the threads? If it's mainstream, ever look into customizing your bb script with PPC ads from adbrite or AdSense?

well that really depends on what you advertise on the site. i may not advertise the right thing and sell nothing, therefore it is worth nothing?

this site is VERY active. around 500 posts per day.

How did you arrive at your demographic? IP tracking or poll or questionaire?

the site is made for young asians living australia/usa/uk. that is where all the traffic is from according to ip and also the profiles and "myspace" type sites they maintain.

Now that information makes a HUGE difference...

You are not just talking young Asians here, you are generally talking paid-for-play students in those countries, and they have AWESOME disposable incomes and are net savvy.

You price just doubled in my mind.

sure, they are posting in 95% english. some of them are local and some are chinese/malaysian/indonesian/HK/sg/jpn living/studying/working in aus/usa/uk
