dual boot with win2000 and freebsd or linux
I just got an xtra hardrive and I wanted to get fimiliar with free BSD or/and linux
I want to dual or tripple boot with with win2000 and/or freebsd and linux. Could you please tell me the order I should install these so I won't have problems with my masterboot record? Thanks! :winkwink: |
Install win2k first then freebsd or linux if you never messed with either try using mandrake linux it seems to be eaiser to install. Partitioning is important. Dont make the win2k partition to large else you will not be able to get linux or freebsd to work. Both have to be able use part of the hd befor 1024th sector (I think that is right) If you are going to connect to the net via an network card I would go with linux it is eaiser to configure

good info!
one question, what size partition should I make it for the win 2K so its before the 1024th sector? I really don't need more than 3 gigs for win2K |
isn't it like 512mb per sector?
