Update on the pit bull we found.
 

I put a listing on craigslist.com and had a few responses. Apparently she's a staffordshire terrier and is a "blue."

One of the respondants gave me some information on a lady here in Pahrumph who does pit bull rescues. She is fully loaded at the time but is working the phones right now trying to find her a home.

I sure hope we can save her.

Well I'm going through a lady who does pit rescues here in Nevada...and she's going through her list of placement homes.

Probably serve society better if someone did that to you. I hope you don't have any children, and if you do, I hope someone murders them before they grow up to be a total loss like yourself. :thumbsup

That is the dumbest thing I think anyone has ever typed on here. Pitbulls are not like chow dogs. They are not born with the ability to turn on people. They are taught it. I am sure by hanging with the dog for a while you can tell if it's angry or unsettled.

It is sad, that with the inbreeding of this type of dog, and the constant bad care that they get, that MOST of them are quite agressive.

Hope you can find a home for him. But if you have children your self, keep a close eye on him.

I have made it known how I feel about Pit Bulls in the past...and more specifically most pit bull owners. However, this is just at this time an innocent animal who's been neglected. I for one hate to see any animal that hasn't done any wrong be put down.

I've made it perfectly known in my correspondence with the pit rescue people that I do not know the temperment of this dog...which is one of the reasons I am not keeping her. Not that I fear for my family, she's shown that she can be around them just fine. But we have small animals, and cats and I don't know how she'll react to them.

So, for now I'll play it on the safe side and hopefully find her a home.

We have already taken in one stray and adopted a cat since we moved to Vegas, and in all honesty if there weren't any other animals in the house and we couldn't find this one a home I would probably keep her rather than turn her over to animal control.

according to your logic guns are more dangerous than nuclear bombs. pitbulls might be able to do more damage if they attack, but that doesnt mean they're the only ones that will attack people. just like any other breed it depends on the actual dog.

You're dumb. The breed is perfectly safe. Sure, sometime bad things happen, but not all dogs do that. The risk percentage is extremely low.

All dogs are animals. Any dog could turn on you for some reason or another. Be it fear, confusion, or something else. Proper care will almost always lead to a safe and well trained dog.

I personally don't like those dogs. First time I took my puppy Lab out for a walk a fucking staff terrior attacked him. I had to pick my dog up or else he was toast!

The Staff proceeded to run onto the road to be hit by a car (not hard - the car managed to break considerably) and just kept walking on.
