Online auction site eBay is rumoured to be in talks to buy Skype Technologies, an internet phone firm that is helping revolutionise the telecoms industry.

Reports claim that eBay may pay between $2bn (£1.1bn) and $3bn for Skype.

I wonder what ebays plans are?

To fuck Skype up like they did Pay Pal. Once Ebay owns Skype your calls will be monitored and no "dirty" phone calls will be allowed.

Yeah but now Paypal is run by a bunch of Nazis when under certain situations steal your money.

Know a few people who've had thier Paypal accounts frozen for errors by Paypal or extremely stupid reasons, and the basic phone conversation you'll have when trying to resolve the matter is "Oh, well guess you're screwed".

And between eBay and Paypal, you pay a hell of a lot of fees just to sell something. It's getting out of hand.

When a big scandal hits Paypal users will second guess it, and with thier current policy of not giving a rats ass if they screw you over it'll happen eventually.

The problem right now is lack of real competing auction sites.

I can't wait until Google finishes thier Paypal competition, you know Google will bring alot to the table. Paypal needs the competition.
