how can I find out how much traffic a site gets?
if they dont have a counter on the page?
is there any way? |
First, I'd check the page for a width=1 height=1 counter
Second, try domain.com followed by /stats /webstat /webstats /usage /webusage etc, and see if you can uncover webalizer or a similar stats program (just hope it isn't a protected dir) Third, if you're really desperate, you could always email the webmaster and ask. :1orglaugh |
great suggestions..thanks!
I know they use webtrends but that's all I know...a competitor :):thumbsup |
or /wlizer

You can get a very vague (and I do mean VAGUE) idea of how much traffic a site gets by looking at its Alexa ranking. Alexa stats are seemingly biased quite a bit, especially towards sites that cater to webmasters, however they're the only way I know of to check the traffic on any site.

It's tricks like this that makes Alexa a VAGUE [as NetRodent points out] indicator of traffic. |

hmmm... Traffic: - 2 stars| Ranking: around 27,000 Total Alexa Visits: 13,200 this means the site probably doesnt do shit? |
Hack into your competitors site, steal his log files and then deface and destroy his site.
That's what Gary's yelling at me from the couch ;) |
