"America is a mistake, a giant mistake."
Sigmund Freud |
well, he thought that women were inferior, so yes he was right ;)

what do you think about this?
Another way into the unconscious besides dreams is what Freud calls PARAPRAXES, or slips of the tongue; he discusses these in The Psychopathology of Everyday Life. Such mistakes, including errors in speech, reading, and writing, are not coincidences or accidents, Freud says. Rather, they reveal something that has been repressed into the unconscious. A third way into the unconscious is jokes, which Freud says are always indicative of repressed wishes. He discusses this route to the unconscious in Jokes and Their Relation to the Unconscious. |
I think he was right about the unconscious and the way that you have to defeat it in order to really have total control over your life and behaviors - unfortunately a lot of people have translated his work into talking about subconscious which is a totally different uncontrollable part of the mind(and that he never talked about) - and they get very confused - especially most of the newer psychoanalysts that didnt pay attention in school which has given rise to a bunch of so-called afflictions used to allow criminals to escape prison time and people to blame others for their own lack of control.
If you can really gain that control over your own unconscious you can see things in other people that allows you to get more of what you want and gives so much freedom to your life - and most importantly - gives you incredible power with the ability to talk to women and really understand them which of course gives you all of the power in the world :) |
It's interesting to hear what some people focus on from his many theories.
I actually read scycoligy of the subconscious one of his largest books and with all the different things he went on about. The subconscious is my most interested. Not really what the subconscious remembers, I am more interested in how it relates to the conscious mind and what it's learning ability when used is. I liked his metaphor "your mind is like an ice berg, the tip all you can see" Linkster, I agree that he was not talking about it could be but how we are as humans in right now in time and I agree that the next steps in evolution will require using more of the subconscious. I also am interested in Timothy Leary's theory on using acid to break into the sub-conscious. I can say from experience "many years ago" it does do exactly that, but it also is not controllable when done this way. I could read people just from looking at them, sad angy, evil, sexy, but it would get out of control to easilly. At some point maybe 100's or thousands of years from now It might be common to use telepathy and understand more just by looking at people. |

Over the last generation I have seen court systems go from sending criminals to jail -to allowing them back on the street due to "severe mental stress at the time of the crime" - and it now goes all the way down to raising kids to think that they should get a reward for going to school (Im sure youve seen the bumper stickers) so that they grow up thinking society "owes" them a living and that there is nothing that they shouldnt have - of course I blame parents for this but they are just getting it from the folly people call the societal psychology now-a-days. sorry - rant off :) |
well, he WAS right about his drug of choice...(end of barely funny reply)
