sigh.. any car guru's out there?

http://www.masternappy.com/blah/

car got broken into last night, and to top it off.. cant find a replacement for the parts they stole..

anyone know what thats called? center dash?

looked all over junk yards today, guys told me it would be a very hard part to find since its a GXL

anyone know any sites where I could look offhand? going to try calling dealerships but junk yard guys said they more than likely dont make these or stock them anymore :(

Noir 09-09-2005 03:46 PM

center dash or console?

The dealer might have one, also call other junkyards and don't forget ebay!

eamedia 09-09-2005 03:47 PM

I worked in Car Audio all my life and I believe you are referring to the "instrument panel" or "control bezel" also many know it as a "beauty ring" but "bezel" is the proper word, no?
anyway, i am going by what is in the post... the page did not load for me.

eBay my brother I find the most obscure parts cheap on eBay. It may take a bit of time to track it down but it can and will be found. Also many national auto parts stores are on the junkyard parts network, they often can locate the part and have it shipped. You'll pay more but as junkyards organize better prices have been going up anyway.

http://www.goodmedia.com/mazdees/ They seem to specialize in rx7-8. I have heard of a place named Aspec also.

That sucks bro... ebay/junkyards are the way to go. I used to have the same model.

Manufacturers only supply parts for 7 years. You may get very very lucky and find a dealer but thats extremely rare. Junkyard and ebay is your solution. What about insurance?

insurance: liability only.. this is the most expensive car I've bought and only spent $3k on it.. so insurance would end up costing more than the car, anything happens I'll just get another

I have a lot more places to call tommorrow, and also filled out a few contact forms on some other sites that carry what I'm looking for, so I'm pretty optimistic about finding what I'm looking for.. worse comes to worse I'll hafta fix it redneck fashion. :thumbsup

well liabilty will cover it for sure, I was thinking you maybe had a 500 dollar deductible, have the insurance companies body shop track down the parts at thier expense and get a new radio that was similar to your 400 pioneer :winkwink:

I'm sure I can find the missing section for $100 and put cheap head unit in there.. save me the $300 and higher premium from insurance :)

edit: btw good guess.. thats exactly what I had in my car before, lol.. well, it was only a $300 unit :winkwink:
