Olympus Digital Camera
For all you peeps that have an Olympus digital camera, do you use Rayovac or similar rechargable NiMH batteries? The safety guide says to only use the 'Olympus' brand batteries (Upsell technique?)
Thx |
i just bought my olympus d510 and i use rechargables in it and not olympus brand batteries. they just say that for more sales. however, some cameras dont allow you to use any kind of rechargables because it may break the camera circuit board somehow. i use them anyways because buying batteries is expensive as hell and if the camera breaks over time then i will probably have saved enough to cover what the camera cost me.

I use pro master batteries and recharger on mine

I just had this discussion with the repair people, after picking up my camera. He said they are specifically designed to meet the needs of the product ,and who should know better than the manufacturer. And no I did not buy it, I had a plug in connection that got baffed in less than a yr . The camera is a little over 3 yrs old so no point in investing more money in obsolete equipment

Just picked up an Olympus C4040 last night for content. I would think the battery statements are just an upsell. Personally I don't even think I've ever seen Olympus batteries at my local stores...

Of course it is upsell.. marketing 101.
I have an Olympus too, any battery will do. |
i have a c2500l from a couple years ago. it came with batteries. use olympus rechargables! mine died one time and i used normal duracells and they died after about 30 pics!
btw this camera is for sale since i dont use it. comes with a bunch of goodies...usb reader, zoom len, 2 128 meg smart cards, and rechargable batteries |
I have an Olympus E-10 and use all sorts of nickle-metal hydride batteries. Shouldn't be much of a problem.

Hey Guys,
I see you're big fans of Olympus. ;o)). I use C2500L at the moment with NiMn Batteries. Not Duracell not any well known Brand - 1400mAh and seems they work fine just like Olympus original Batteries - about 250 shots with build in Flash on HQ resolution 1700x1300. But my Question is a little bit different. Does anyone of you guy have a try on New Olympus E-20? I have read reviews for it on Dpreview.com and seems it is too slow when transfering buffer to Card ;o((. I doubt if it can be used for making some content shoots. Or I need to look around for any other Camera and Brand. I'm very happy with Olympus, but if new E-20 is worse I will be so unhappy to search for any other Brand. So please if anyone have any experience with E-20 please contact me at ICQ# 36860102, or post reply here. 10x alot |
