i know there is a wide array of people in this world with fetishes that range from the benign to the bizzare, and we except this and and allow it under the premise that no one is being hurt. But what kind of person would stab another human being without provaction, let alone a defenseless infant. Just makes you wonder what kind of things go through a persons mind who are capable of such things.

You can blame budget cuts to mental health. There is nowhere for these people to go, no institutions where they can be monitored. They NEED to be on their meds and letting them run wild in society unchecked is negligence, in my opinion. I would bet you a million dollars this guy has a psychiatrist who has said 'I knew that guy should have been committed years ago', but there's no money for that to happen.

Not only, but because us has such a large population there's more nutjobs than elsewhere. (china and india probably have a few weirdos as well).

Why just the doctor. Why not the administrator of the mental hospital who runs the show, the case worker or oversaw the patient, the city councils that do not fund the hospitals enough, the state politicians who fought for more prison funding and less psychiatric funding, and lets not forget the tax payers who refuse to pass tax bills that assist in keeping room in such hospitals for such people.
