can you run 150 ft of cat 5 and still get a strong signal
If anyone knows thank you in advance
shouldnt be a problem
you can run it about 300 feet before you will get any loss
I've easily got 150 feet spread around, and don't see any loss whatsoever.
150 is nothing for cat 5 as long as the ends are mounted correctly.
what they said :thumbsup
yep, 150 feet is nothin.

Max ethernet segment lengths:
Gigabit Ethernet (over copper), 1000baseT Length: 100 Meters Cable: UTP (Cat5 and up ONLY) Fast Ethernet, 100BaseTX Length: 100 Meters Cable: UTP (Cat5 and up ONLY) Twisted Pair Ethernet, 10BaseT Length: 100 Meters Cable: UTP (Cat 3 and up) Also, you should note that the limiting factor isn't the signal strength, it's the round-trip propagation delay...due to the access method of ethernet (CSMA/CA). |
not a problem
You can run it up to 300 ft but i wouldnt recommend it. 150 ft should be fine
