I just got a CNN Breaking News alert:

Ophelia reaches hurricane status 70 miles east-northeast of Cape Canaveral, Florida, says the National Hurricane Center

Time to batten down the hatches there I guess!

Have you seen the pics of A1A in Flaggler? I was up there today and there are places where the sand is washed away right up to the road. A bunch of those big rocks to put in there last year just washed away.

Sections of A1A will be gone if that storm comes back around and hits here.. that or if another one comes those sections of A1A will go bye bye..

DAMN I miss the hurricane parties. And In that area, break out the Surf Boards!!!

Yeah? on Vermont?

My buddy owns that club topic right on ISB....

I am beachside also...

DK 09-08-2005 04:24 PM

I'm just around the corner from Epic Jim, Beachside.
Here is a pic from my condo balcony..i tried to step all the way out
but the camera was alost ripped from my hand.

Winds well over 65mph now. 6-8 foot swells, maybe higher. There is normally a good 40/50 feet of beach there.
(enough for two way traffic and sunbathers).

nothing beats a tropical hurricane.
I lived through a cat4 in Antigua... Saw a cow decapitated by flying sheet
metal. Now that was a storm.
