home depot - mouse trap.

problem is if you see one - there's more then one.

the absolute best way is to get a cat - then an exterminator - then traps.

Zebra 09-08-2005 10:21 AM

Call Laurel, she knows how to get rid of mice.

AgentCash 09-08-2005 10:26 AM

Sticky traps AKA Glueboards.

Lay them across areas where you know the mice run & in areas where you find droppings. I caught a family of mice this way & it seemed a lot more sanitary than splatttered heads or torn off limbs like a spring loaded trap has been known to leave. One thing I wasn't prepared for was after catching the adults, I found the babies a few days later laying out in the open, apparently having starved to death.

Sometimes if they get a limb or tail stuck they'll chew it off and scamper away, leaving a trail of blood. Heh...

Sorry, Lori...I had a feeling that this was going to happen to you when I saw that trap in your house from last Saturday. I'm telling you..get a cat! I think my mice situation is under controlled. Btw, I got to kill a scorpion last Saturday w/ a mop. :upsidedow

warlock5 09-08-2005 10:57 AM

I had a mouse a few weeks ago too.

Buy a couple of mouse traps, put some penut butter on the trigger and set them next to the wall in the kitchen or wherever you saw it.

The wierd thing was, I woke up at like 4 in the morning to take a piss. I crawled back into bed and a few minutes later actually heard the trap go off. When I got up a few hours later there it was!

Hollywood Horwitz 09-08-2005 11:03 AM

Lori, I had a mouse problem in my old house, dont get the stickey paper traps, they are horrible, the mouse just sits there staring at you awaiting its demise.get the traps where they come in and the door shuts behind them, then you let them free outside or the dump,whichever...http://guletta.com/melrose/pics/MouseTrapped10.jpg

Vitasoy 09-08-2005 11:45 AM

yeah if you wanna watch it suffer or end up having to break its neck or something!

The pest control guys we hired at my old job used those and we ended up with these mice twisted around, stuck to the tape, panting and freaking out but unable to do anything. :( PLUS it didn't actually get rid of the mice problem and further steps had to be taken.

Okay, so you're gonna kill the mouse, but you don't have to make it suffer for so damn long :disgust - those things should be taken off the market imo :2 cents:

I know Laurel, I forgot about that mouse sticky thing until I saw little mickey run across my floor.

I am so not happy about this. I am not a cat person, but I would rather deal with a cat, than mice :(

Spunky 09-08-2005 04:51 PM

keyboard warrior 09-08-2005 04:56 PM

i just set 2 traps tonight, they have these new ones you wind up and you put the bait in a secret hole so the bastard wont get it-i cant wait to get rid of em as soon as you kill one a few weeks later another one sneaks in-they are fucking hard to get rid off-they sneak in from the roof end crawl down the inside walls-you can hear them scuffing at night waitng to attact you and drive you fucking crazy these fucking mieces!

pornguy 09-08-2005 05:00 PM

Buy a mouse trap, and put peanutbutter on it. they love it.

phogirl69 09-08-2005 05:00 PM

At least u don't have ants, i do and it's disgusting!! My bf threw a used condom on the floor (really gross i know...) and the next day ants were ALL over it and eating the sperm, i guess it's protein! That's what we get for being dirty and not cleaning up!!

one entered my house not so long ago, they move around at night but sleep during the day, in the morning I found it outside my house sleeping, so I just caught it with piece of paper and a glass and 'released' it about 20 m from my house

plus it was so small it was actually cute

poison works great. they eat it, get weak, then die by the poison since its easy food and they don't know it's killing them

the problem is dealing with dead ones

Theo 09-08-2005 05:21 PM

seriously now, don't kill it

Oh my goodness. I remember when Pete was just 4. He ran into our room at night crying that he saw a mouse. We went into the room and saw that it was nothing more than a roach finishing his half eaten slice of pizza that he didn't finish. Hehehe. That crazy boy. Oh the memories.

yeah, let it go so it can come back?

If you aren't going to kill it you might as well let it run free thru your house

Lori . . . you have field mice. They have been there from long before those condos were put up. When they built the condos the mice went thru, not around. They have paths that they have used for generations and will continue to use. You are not talking about one mouse, or one family of mice. You are talking about generations past, present and future.

yep you are right! :1orglaugh

the update... my daughter was hungry, I climb over the barricade into the kitchen to run and get her something, I see the sticky trap next to the fridge, it is MOVING !!

I can't see in it, but yep, it's wiggling around. I race out of there!

I whip out the phone, call Ted the exterminator man and tell him I think the mouse is in the trap house!

sure enough, he was stuck to the paper thingy. I never saw him, my nanny took him away, far away somewhere. heh.

meanwhile... I am still looking down at the floor everywhere I walk.

Mice can be dangerous... they can surprise you and next thing you know, you are breaking a leg tripping over things trying to run for the door :upsidedow

One mouse down, hopefully no more to go! :thumbsup

Th!nk 09-09-2005 12:16 AM

mouse trap will always help and make sure your food are always be kept in safe, to a place where they cannot smell or see it..
