Lets talk IP's for a second.
Taken from another hosts thread
"Our Network - Free IP addresses (per ARIN guidelines)" So when i get charged $1-$2 an ip, i'm taking it up the ass. It takes less than a second to alot an ip, & in most cases i can do it myself through a control panel. So what the fucks the deal? Set me straight big guys. |
nevermind, go back to trolling for your 50 cents a post & your 2100th post for a free 360 xbox, fucking fags

Arin charges for IP Blocks (Arin controls all the routable internet addresses) , and you have to justify why you need a certain block size of ip's. We had to beg, borrow and steal to get them to give us a pair of /22's. Alot of bandwith providers will give away the ip's with a large bandwith purchase from them and in return you can charge your clients for them or give them away as a freebie (but if you want you own portable ip space you have to pay Arin for it on a yearly basis). We usually give up to 10 ip's for a decent hosting customer and then charge $1 per ip after that. Hope this helps, hit me up if you need more of a explaination.

But does Arin charge you $1 per ip?

Also remember there are only so many ip addresses to go around and by charging for ip's after a certain amount is given to a hosting client keeps people from abusing it. When you have to pay for them it makes you only take what you need. |
