Anyone in the Atlanta area wants to RENT THEIR EXTRA CAR?

Ok, so I'm having kind of a hard time finding a cheap realible car to use just until December 17. So I'm looking for options right now...

So, if you have an extra car that you don't use and you're looking for a few extra bucks hit me up. I mainly drive from my house to Georgia Tech and back. And that's pretty much about it!

Name your price!

You can drive in the U.S.A with a brazillian license?

You can maybe buy a cheap car? Like a few grand, and then sell it again to the cardealer...Will cost you some..But maybe still less then renting

I'm REALLY trying to do that. But every car that I see is so fucked up that it feels like it's just a big fucking waste of time to keep looking for one.

Seriously, I've seen all kinds of shitty cars the last 3 weeks!

Insurance would be tricky for someone to let you drive their car :( Just buy a junker, get liability on it only and sell it to another college student in Dec.

Believe me, that's what I'm trying to do for 3 weeks.

If I rent it from someone in here I'd pay for insurance.

I don't think the insurence works that way.

Guess what happens to get Drunk and Stupid and you kill someone..

they come after the owner of the car not the renter or driver

Exactly. Therein lies the problem. Especially with someone who's not a US citizen.

If you're that into renting, just go to one of the rental agencies and rent one. It will cost you $$$ but it will be something.

I can't believe there's not an old Camry, Accord or Nissan for sale somewhere in ATL. Have you checked autotrader.com?

What? If I get my own insurance and crash the car I'm not responsible for it?

Are you sure about that?

EroticySteve 09-07-2005 03:37 PM

Don't rent from somone. That's a legal nightmare. For you and for them. I'm not a lawyer but I've been warned. A good lawyer will tell you never to let anyone drive your car.

Buy a P.O.S. for a few hundred bucks. If it's a japanese POS it will get you by with few if any repairs, you can get your money back. That's the solution. Hell if it's a cheap one junk it when you're done or donate to charity.

Too bad you weren't asking 4 weeks sooner. I just gave my old truck to my bro in Atlanta.

You can't get your own insurance on a car you don't own.

Jace 09-07-2005 03:38 PM

wish I could help you man, but the only extra car I have is a classic, and nothing against you, but NO ONE but me drives that ;)

Ok, I'll say it again:

1. I currently have a rental car.

2. I have seen LOT'S of cheap cars: Nissans, Hondas, Jeeps, Mazdas, Pontiacs, you name it! But I haven't found any car that I thought it was reliable enough to last ONLY 4 MONTHS without me having to take it to the macanic every month.

But I can see that insurance is probably a problem. So forget about it. I'll just keep renting from Enterprise.

I actually found a car that I kind of liked today. A 97 Mazda 626. But I wanted to take it to a mechanic tomorrow to check it. Do you think yours could do it? Where's he at?

If you know what your doing, the rental car is a tax writeoff..

Hell ... form an LLC and drive a nice car, not somebody else's POS! :pimp
