Juicy D. Links 09-07-2005 11:26 AM

Its Bushes fault , first gas and now my fucking coffee

After Shock Media 09-07-2005 11:26 AM

Yeah, NO is responsible for a lot of the US coffee market, that and sugar.
Oh lumber has went through the roof as well.

MrIzzz 09-07-2005 11:29 AM

WWC - Jimmy 09-07-2005 11:31 AM

yeah, what's up with that!

uvort 09-07-2005 11:33 AM

Let's see here... higher gas, higher coffee, higher lumber, tires should be affected as well, all caused by the disaster in New Orleans.

Well, I guess it's no secret why Bush pulled funds on the levee..

DateDoc 09-07-2005 11:33 AM

Probably because the largest port in the US is closed.

I told you guys things like this would rise.

You are seeing the result of sugar imports slowing down.

sugar is a luxury NOT a necessary, and new Orleans and Lousiana have been supplying this country with it for years.

I predicted this.

wait till the seafood prices jump up :)

half of Folgers coffee comes from new Orleans, not to mention spices and things.

America will feel this from the gas pumps to coffee.

my family has ties to the Zatarains spice company. Where do people think places like KFC get their spices? Shipped from Zatarains. This will have major effects all over.

I can see this affecting many areas, from coffee, to gas, to steel, lumber, and even spices in fast food.

My mom works directly with companies like Zatarains in getting spices around the world.

WarChild 09-07-2005 12:34 PM

Nope, just bought coffee for the same price as last week. Of course that's in Costa Rica where the coffee at the gas station blows away the best coffee houses you have. :P

The local chicken place told us a couple of days ago they would be closing soon because they couldn't get their supplies shipped in after the hurricane. Also the 10 pack of reeces cups for $1 is now an 8 pack and this was before the hurricane. Yay higher gas!

Coffe wasn't so bad here, I paid like $4.59 for a 39oz can yesterday but I know it is bound to go up so I stocked up on it....... I cannot live without my damn coffee. LOL

I DID notice the price of bananas went up though, they were like 29 cents a pound last week and have shot up to 49cents a pound today. They said that that was the biggest import area for bananas down there..... too bad ya can't stock up on those. Yikes, my kids will all freak.

WWC-Hagan 09-07-2005 01:40 PM

my coffee place will charge me less if i use a ceramic mug instead of a paper cup...it saves them the cost of the cup. maybe bring your own container and you might get a discount...i think starbucks does that...bring your own cup and get it for less! :)

bignasty 09-07-2005 02:29 PM

coffee's been up here for a while now, canned coffee almost doubled a few months back
