I've been around people that are cheating. You don't tell...unless its your best friends boyfriend/girlfriend, or a family members girlfriend/boyfriend.

yup, not my place to get involved. if someone i wasnt friends with was cheating on a family/friend i would tell though.

If its a friend and he/she is going to blow a good thing they have with their partner ask him WTF he's doing. If it is a friend's partner that you saw cheating call them out. Tell them to come clean or you'll have to tell your bud.

I don't see what business it is of mine. I am not a snitch, but I am not an enabler either. For example I won't lie to someone's gf and give them an alibi or anything like that.

Unless it was a close personal friend/relative getting cheated on, I would not tell... None of my business.

But I don't think I could watch it happen to a close personal friend/relative, then try explaining to them after they find out, oh they will find out, they always do, that you knew the whole time and said nothing :Oh crap that would not be a good situation, would break trust forever.

yeah, I've been asked not to tell - I've observed that and also spoken up and it has given me different outcomes on those few occasions it's happened

if you speak up then you run the risk of the whole 'shoot the messenger' situation and losing the friendship - or being told it's none of your business and why couldn't you just leave it alone - blah blah (people love to blame and they also love denial :winkwink: )

if you don't speak up then you may start to treat your friend a little differently cos you 'know' and WANT to tell them but don't know if you should and for me that created difficulty with communication and affected friendships

depends who's cheating on who, if one of my buddies is banging 3 other chicks on the side i won't say anything but if it was the other way around i would. Yea yea i know double standard sucks.

If it was any of my friends bf/gf i'd tell... i'd expect them to do the same for me.

had a friend do that to me once. i was tempted to tell based on at the time i was alone and felt that he didn't deserve to be with such a beautiful girl that his girlfriend was. in the end i didn't tho. he often lied about cheating on her to show off to me i guess, tho the one girl i know he did cheat with he even invited over while his girlfriend was there.

If its not imediate family or my best friend I could care less.

The cheating is one thing, and certainly bad enough. What's worse is the constant lying and hiding of shit by the cheating couple to cover it all up. A long term trusting relationship hardly seems worth the time once you start to find out all the little things that went on behind your back, and worse if it's amongst people who you consider friends.

An ex-friend of mine was a complete "playa". He was married with a beautiful wife and daughter but was the poster boy for infidelity. One night we went to a bar and he left to deal with things, telling me if his wife called me (I don't know why she had my number) to tell her we went to the hockey game.

I decided to stay at the bar and flirt with the bartender for a bit. The hockey game (Leafs and someone else) was on the TV so I watched here and there. Well things were going well with the bartender and we talked for a good hour or more. I left just after the game finished.

Shortly after I get home, sure enough, his wife calls and I lie to her saying we went to the game together and he's on his way home. She seemed content and then, just before hanging up, added "so who won the game?" Smart girl she is! I told her we won and said goodbye.

I called my boy up after and told him how lucky he was I was hitting on the bartender - and that we hit it off! If not, I would have left and never knew what happened in the game. I told him it was an omen and that I wouldn't lie to his wife again.

Of course, sometime down the road they divorced, thankfully, but he's still the same - some things never change ...

yup a collegue he fucked around everywhere, I hated it, had to face his wife on every occassion since they lived close to where I used to live...

I've never seen someone cheating, thank God... but I don't like people who cheat and/or lye.

I dont tell, but I dont hang out with them anymore either. That just shows me they cannot be trusted.

It happened to me a lot and its a perfect tool for blackmail. I had a great time LOL.

I have been in that situation and i can say that it is very hard to carry. You don't want to disappoint the one asking you a favor but then you can't hide/ lie all the time.
We cannot always hide the truth 'coz it will come out in due time.
