New Orleans being flooded with celebs now....

Who is your fave celeb reaching out? I have seen Jamie Foxx, Mathew Mc-Con-O-Hay, Faith Hill, Sean Penn, Oprah....who else is down there?

DaLord 09-07-2005 02:07 AM

Sean Penn is the king. I really don't like any of the other celebs. Sean Penn is the real deal.

escorpio 09-07-2005 02:07 AM

Opportunistic attention whores.

Ninja Scripts 09-07-2005 02:08 AM

They should have a Live From The Superdome concert to raise money.

cambaby 09-07-2005 02:08 AM

Hahahahahaha yeah REAL deal

Yes, The Captain of the Titanic himself, Sean Penn for sure. The ultimate ambulance chaser, barring Jesse Jackson of course, who stands supreme in the Ambulance Chaser Hall of Fame... :1orglaugh

They need to send funds, and supplies, not appear as gods to their worshippers lending "moral support during these tough times". Bullshit. Send food, and water. And money.

I'd rather see someone go out and rescue people that are dying than make a donation while they watch people die on CNN.

Th!nk 09-07-2005 02:15 AM

good to know that there are celebrities down there helping those poor people. besides they really have lots to give...

Furious_Female 09-07-2005 02:23 AM

I give them more credit for at least trying, unlike the MTV corporate puppet celebs :disgust

You're dreaming. What, Faith Hill carries people out piggy back? Come on... :winkwink:

Food. Water. Money. Send it celebrities, and stay the F off the airwaves, this isn't a photo op for your latest movie/book/CD.

gangbangjoe 09-07-2005 02:31 AM

sean penn messed it up big time :D

What difference is it to you? There are celebrities there that are trying to help and will probably make donations on top of that. I see nothing wrong with it and consider it better than buying food that will never make it to these people anyhow.

djroof 09-07-2005 02:35 AM

and Nicolas Cage I think... he has house at New Orlean

And you know that how? Is the food going to be ambushed in New Mexico by terrorists? Is it plutonium now and has to be escorted in? :winkwink:

No offense, I am seriously not trying to flame you, but put down the "US Weekly", stop sucking up this celebrity melodrama, and see it realistically. Unless they're floating into the harbor with an oil tanker full of food, they're doing nothing in NO besides "lending moral support", which is nonsense.

Ask yourself this:

If you had their money, their access, their power, what could YOU do?

I bet you'd be able to do a shitload more than any of these celebs-on-site have as you sound like a good person.

I don't even know of celebrities there aside from Sean Penn. It doesn't really matter and anything positive is good for the area right now regardless of their intentions.

Celebrities are just like regular people, only better.

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 09-07-2005 02:45 AM

Singer, pianist, and actor, Harry Connick Jr., who is a native of New Orleans, has been highly visible in fundraising and other relief efforts, including rolling up his sleeves and helping out

I feel that there is nothing wrong with that as long as the celebrities are sincere and are helping to raise awareness/support for those affected by this disaster.

Ace-wtf 09-07-2005 02:45 AM

I agree with this

"I feel that there is nothing wrong with that as long as the celebrities are sincere and are helping to raise awareness/support for those affected by this disaster."
At least they are doing something unlike the keyboard warriors around here who just criticise :2 cents:

bjjb 09-07-2005 03:15 AM

Yeah I know. I saw Ellen Degeneres the other day. Shes a Native of No and shes not flying down. Shess doing fundraising on her show. New season and all . Much more impressed by that than the celebs flying down and making asses of themselves by being there.

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 09-07-2005 03:20 AM

Thank you very much...

The celebrities have left the Superdome...now all we have left are the politicians and media talking heads.
