Anyone ever did a cross country voast to coast via car?
I'm thinking of taking the drop top mustang all the way to cali. Set up hotels along the way with highspeed ya know. It's just something i've always wanted to do, kinda like national lampoons ya feel ; )
Anyone ever done it, & was it rough, or enjoyable, & coming from D.C. straight to say San Diego, what sites should i check along the way? No cheesy balls of yarn! :pimp |
I rode my bike from LA to Daytona Beach and back, in the dead of winter.

since I live in the middle of the country, only half way and back a couple times... was fun

I hitch hiked from Toronto to Vancouver when I was 18 all by myself! It took me 8 days...was the most insane experience of my life! :)

i did it a few years ago. awful, boring as hell. i helped a friend move from boston out to wyoming. took about a week. i guess it would have been better if we stopped at tourist attractions or something.

drove from just south of Miami to Tucson once, and I've done dozens and dozens of road trips from AZ to CA....and once from the central coast of Cali to Vancouver.........so technically I have driven across country, I guess :)
lots of shit to see in the US really, whip out a map, decide where you want to park at night and bring the place's info up online to see if it's worthy of a day or two stay... :thumbsup |

yeah I met some interesting ppl along the way and then some,....the ride home was just as insane...I ended up in the weirdest places! :) |
We took a 650 kawa from NYC to San Fran, slept on the beach, partied along the way, but hell that was 1980.. I should dig some pictures up.. Would I do it today,, sure if I would be 20 again.. lol
|
I've done it 3 times in the last few years and the last two were last year.
I went coast to coast from NY (George Wa Bridge) to CA and NC to Seattle and Deleware to WA. I recommend you don't take interstate 90 or 40 because there isn't much high speed internet in the hotels you'll find. I-80 is wall to wall with high speed internet at all the hotels. |

No, but I drove from Detroit suburbs to Los Angeles. I drove 12 hrs per day for 3 days in a row. Not fun.
