Lost CD thread. Anyone interested in getting MP3's of CD's they've lost?
 

So file sharing is illegal.. what about if you can prove you bought the cd, but lost it before you could make a back up? Would that be ok?

Someone will probably take the piss at this little lost cd collection seeing as some of it is daggy, but i have kinda varied tastes and am a bit of a collector.. everything from beach boys to mr bungle.. although it's mostly rock/pop.

What I'm thinking is if someone can burn a 256k MP3 copy of an album like say bjork's vespertine (the blank white one second from top) I'll return the favour with one of their lost one's if i can and they can prove they still have the cd cover. Is that legal or just a bad idea?

Yeah it's awesome. There are half a dozen classics there I wish didn't get lost amongst my 300-400 cds.. I'm currently ripping them all MP3 so im finding the ones that have escaped their cases over the years.. I'm going to buy them all again as CD's because I'm a bit of a freak that way.. but figured until then.. might as well listen to the mp3's.. got about 15GB of them now @ 256k.. It's great I listen to a lot of them way more now cause i don't have to fuck around pulling shit out of cd stacks and scratching cds.
