I am pretty sure he his a good webmaster......but....he acts with no respect for other people and that is what is the problem with him.....
Bitching around on people working in the same business as you has never paid off.

And by making ennemies, it may in the end be negative for his ambition....people will not want to help him when he will need it.

I wouldn't count on that...I used to sort of root for Spacedog, but I don't know anymore. Someone who can't see that baseless CP accusations aren't really funny and aren't really harmless fucking around is someone I'd have a hard time pulling for.

Oh well. Just my opinion. :) I do think he lost a fair amount of his supporters today though, and not just with the initial post, but with the way he handled it afterwards. Everyone makes mistakes, it's how you handle them that counts, and he handled this one about as poorly as you could, all the way up to changing this thread to say "Fuck this place" as if we were all to blame for this.

there are 2 ways to do bussiness here, 1: you work publicity 2: you work alone, as far as having a good rep with your fellow webmaster, its a good thing but alot of times you are better off work by yourself.

Not quite true. On the internet, all you really have is your reputation. It takes years to build and can be destroyed in 2 minutes.

You may be right. Unfortunately, Spacedog's entire business was built based on his asking a million questions here. How far do you think he'll get when he can't post every single question that pops into his head on this board?

I dont really know any of you well, but I remember reading this along the way...

1. Not having a plan (or not sticking to it.)

This may seem a bit simplistic, but writing down a plan and sticking to it is incredibly effective. Take the time to write down milestones: 30 day, 90 day, 6 month, and one year. If you're new to the business, make them financial goals, not 'traffic' or 'marketing.' When your only goal is bottom-line profitability, your mind is free to think creatively. It's one of the marks of a good entrepreneur.

2. Being inflexible.

Is your plan going nowhere fast? You must meet your 30 day goal! On day 25, if you have yet to meet your $100 goal (for example), you're going to have to put some long nights in and maybe even pick up the phone. Start networking. Start contacting people. Bring something of value to the table. One way or another, you've got to hit that goal. You might be surprised at how easily it is to meet these goals after meeting a couple of milestones. Be flexible and ready to divert course instantly! If not, you're going to nose-dive toward the earth.

3. Not challenging yourself.

Is it easy? Hell no. But it's not exactly hard, either. You simply have to challenge yourself. It's like exercise, or staying in shape: you only have to exercise about 2% of the time, but unless each and every workout is challenging, you're not molding your body into a better shape. Same goes for your adult webmaster career!

4. Losing focus. Don't try to do a million things at once. Focus on simple goals that maximize your efficiency and core value. Whether it's a talent for designing webpages, marketing, accounting, or just plain clever ideas, stay true to yourself! Don't try to do stuff that doesn't come naturally - at least not at first. Your best resource is yourself.

5. Acting like a dummy in public! Well, I think the message boards are a great forum for adult webmasters to use for mutual benefit. However, the act of acting like an idiot and 'pissing' online is absolutely a waste of time and reflects very poorly on the participating individual. Once you make this mistake, however, there's no turning back. Your reputation is worth a lot in this industry. Don't ruin it pointlessly.
