the way it works is that I get cars from my dad: he is a car dealer

but not any car dealer, he gets accidented/salvage cars, fixes them up, and sells for a profit.

so I can't really choose exactly what configuration I want...



as for me asking GFY, I love both of them, don't really have a preference. So I am just asking you guys what you think, maybe I would get a reply that would make the difference in my head

My ex-husband just bought one of these about two weeks ago. Black with a black top.

I know I will be crucified for saying this, but I think it's ugly as shit. He forced me to go for a ride in it, and he was like a little school kid. I smiled and told him it was nice because I didn't want to rain on his parade, but I still can't understand what the excitement is about. I suppose it will be good for picking up trashy girls.

Both are sweet, I like the hard top because it's quit period, If I got a convertable it would be a hard top.

the z is a classic tradition that goes back twice the age as most surfers on GFY.

These things are like driving on railroad tracks, not to mention 280 horses used correctly.

It out performed cars that cost twice as much.

Beat the mazda rx8, beat the honda s7000 or whatever that thing is.

And it's only 30k stripped down or $35 custom.

Hands down the z is the best bang for the buck when you factor performance, style, and price.

Oh it was car of the year BTW in 2003 (when it came out) by moter trends for a reason.

Oh and the g35 is slower, heavear, and has a midgets size back seats. All so you can think your a pimp. News flash your car can only get looks you have to do the rest. If your that shallow then buy a BMW or Mercedez :warning

I have owned 2 hard tops and my cousin owned a convertible. The convertible is great when the top is down, but when it is up it looks 'not right'... stupid almost, flashbacks to the Miata's

Additionally, at anything over 120 it is a fucked up feeling driving the convertible because of the wind noise, etc... In my hardtop I can bring it to 140 without issues, the car just becomes one with the road. Almost (ALMOST) like a 911, mainly due to similar size, tires/wheels, etc. Far better than any Corvette I ever owned.

As for the people bitching about these cars, they are one of the better cars I have driven and owned in the past 5 years.

If you buy one, take the piece of shit Bridgestones off that day. I traded my 2004 in with just under 9K miles on it and it needed new tires all around. When I got my 2005 I put 4 new tires on it that day.

Buy one. You will not regret it.

Get the non-convertible. I would never buy a convertible with a softtop

so you could do what the rest of the world does and just buy a car that wasn't wrecked first..

Hold out and get a used 2004-2005 SL 500.

Convertible is more fun but from your location (Montreal), it might be better a hard top to keep the cold out.

I personally prefer the convertible, but its such a waiste in the UK so I'm gonna go for the Non convertible if I get one.
