I have now been in contact with a friend in Oklahoma that has several rentals. I have made arrangements with him to rent one of his rentals for up to a year. I have instructed him to get in contact with either the Salvation Army or the Red Cross to select a family (husband and wife that have children)...whose home has been destroyed by Katrina...and offer to fly them to Oklahoma and supply them with free housing and financial support for up to a year...or until they can become self sufficient...which ever comes first.

Adopt a family...and do the same or somthing similar...if you can.

I donated but beyond that feel useless at this distance. My mother is a department in a PA school district and they have some displaced kids starting there this week.

That is an incredibly gracious and humane thing to do. :)

My company has donated to a private organisation...my husband and I have donated to a private organisation and we've given money to a friend's family member....I hope it helps.

I haven't contributed any material thing for the victims of Katrina...but I prayed too much for them to survive this tragedy.

doing things for people witout notice is a nicer vibe at times...

Hmm...what does my father being killed 36 years ago have to do with the price of apples? Have you assisted the victims of Katrina? If not why?

BTW what you believe or disbelive is of zero import to me...but thanks for the bump...as assisting the victims is important.

Attempted to donate tonight (against my better judgement), but I'll be damned if I'm going to give another AID org my address and/or phone number. Life Source hounded me by phone for three years at all hours of the day and night and at lest once a week by mail...
