Would this be a nuclear power plant? (PIC)

Is this a nuclear power plant? I wouldn?t know, don?t know what those things look like. I do know however, we have some!

Mefo 09-05-2005 12:32 AM

looks like one, can't say it for sure

sexxxydesign.com 09-05-2005 12:34 AM

90% sure.. not because of the chimneys.. but because of the round Breast shaped building behind them.. nuclear reactors allways look that way

XWS Negotiator 09-05-2005 12:41 AM

That certainly is a nuclear power plant!

Validus 09-05-2005 12:58 AM

Well thats kinda cool then. My first nuclear powerplant :)

BabeHunter 09-05-2005 01:01 AM

yes it is.

Th!nk 09-05-2005 01:08 AM

that shows a nuclear power plant...

Yes and you win a prize.. If you live anywhere close to it, your kid gets to have a extra arm..

jizzy.b 09-05-2005 01:40 AM

If you have the healthy green glow in the dark I would say it is a nuclear power plant

DutchTeenCash 09-05-2005 01:48 AM

yup it is the pipes are to cool off the water thats used

phonesex 09-05-2005 02:14 AM

go ahead and jump right in

brilsmurf 09-05-2005 02:15 AM

are you planning a terrorist attack?????????

hova 09-05-2005 02:27 AM

I think so

kenny 09-05-2005 02:36 AM

Is it by somekind of water? They need water to cool the reactors. Sometimes they even build man made lakes for them.

Linkster 09-05-2005 03:49 AM

Yep - the round headed building is the containment building that actually houses the reactor - the two cooling towers cool the clean water on the condensers for the generator turbines - normally there would be another containment building for the second reactor as there is usually only one cooling tower per turbine building

Jep indeed, it is right by a river.

zentz 09-05-2005 04:01 AM

yeah.. looks beautiful dont you think ?

OG LennyT 09-05-2005 04:03 AM

Palo Verde Nuclear Plant is about 40-50 miles outside of Phoenix

Validus 09-05-2005 04:16 AM

Nuclear power is a pretty cool thing. Let?s see how it pans out in the future. We for a couple here in Germany, but they are not allowing any new ones to be built.

Cassie 09-05-2005 04:58 AM

i live 10 miles from a nuclear plant. i moved away from nyc to get away from potential attacks only to move within a 5 min contamination radius if that plant ever has a melt down.

jacked 09-05-2005 05:30 AM

looks like it could be one not sure though

it works the same as the coal plants

kenny 09-05-2005 05:38 AM

Ever hear of the fussion reactors?

I know they have one but I think it requires more energy then it can actually produce.

But if they ever figured it out right it would be amazing.

Validus 09-05-2005 05:42 AM

Well, I should have made a poll... but... most of you guys say it is one.. so... I will just leave it at that! :) Thanks

Except coal plants put out more radioactivity - they are allowed to discharge right out their smoke stacks - I worked at one nuke plant where we had to sample the air every night to prove the alarms we got at the nuke plant were from the coal plant next door - its amazing how much those coal plants put out

Vitasoy 09-05-2005 08:09 AM

It does look like one.

Dugmor 09-05-2005 08:15 AM

Yes........ that be a nuker !

tranza 09-05-2005 08:55 AM

itīs a nuclear plant...not doubt, you can even see where the reactor is housed

Violetta 09-05-2005 08:57 AM

Sure looks like one, but I have no clue!!

tranza 09-05-2005 09:21 AM

anyway..itīs a nice pic, radioactivity is a weird thing

QualityMpegs 09-05-2005 09:24 AM

We have one right by us...looks just like that. It is entirely steam. Clean burning coal I guess.

Nysus 09-05-2005 09:24 AM

Haven't you seen where Homer works?

Matt

It's steam from the cooling system; they need large amounts of water I believe to cool the reactors as they produce a large amount of heat... and would otherwise meltdown (literally melt, and release radiation) - which I'm sure everyone's heard of.

Homer saved Springfield from a meltdown once.

Matt

NoWhErE 09-05-2005 09:27 AM

Ever seen the Simpsons? Thats definately a plant!

pr0 09-05-2005 09:45 AM

yes the dome is the reactor & the 2 chimneys are the cooling towers

we have one on the lake i fish at....if you fish right at the release dam (where warm water is released) the fish bite like nuts

their all clean & healthy ....way healthier than any river/ocean fish i've seen

Manowar 09-05-2005 09:47 AM

yep that's one !

loverboy 09-05-2005 11:12 AM

i can't imagine what of of protection these plants have against terrorists?

:smokin

DaddyHalbucks 09-05-2005 11:14 AM

Yes, Virginia, that is a nuclear power plant.

The dome building is the reactor and containment vessel.

The concave buildings are cooling towers.

Why don't you just look it up. It's nok like it's a goverment secret.

wildgirl 09-05-2005 02:56 PM

I'm not sure if it is but I think so...

sonofsam 09-05-2005 03:01 PM

go throw rocks at it

P.S. it looks like the ones in the simpsons, so i'm going to have to say yes :1orglaugh

Sadly, very very little.

mcmc 09-05-2005 03:22 PM

100% sure

I am not sure about that. As we drove by the plant it looked like a fortress.

I?d say Germans take the security of their power plants, especially the nuclear ones. Pretty serious setup they seemed to have.

this will be quicker than fussion and it takes care of toxic and municipal solid wastes. This is similar than the Molten Metals technology using catalytic conversion, however this uses Pyrolosis and with 50% organic material being processed it will yield over 55% surplus energy than can be sold back to the power grid.

Only by-product that it creates is basically purified carbonated water and a non leaching slag. Metals can be bricked and recycled. This will also break everything down to its simplest elements.

All from a "recycled steal furnace"

tornell 09-06-2005 01:18 AM

yes, sure

webcrawler 09-06-2005 02:42 AM

Too risky living near one.

xclusive 09-06-2005 02:52 AM

It's obviousl a brothel and the dome is in the shape of a tit to bring in the customers. Get naked and go knock i'm sure they will let you in for some action:)

Validus 09-06-2005 04:57 AM

Wow, this nuclear power plant is getting a lot of attention. Keep the fusion going!
