Chief Justice Rehnquist Dies
WASHINGTON - Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist, who oversaw the high court's conservative shift and presided over the impeachment trial of President Clinton, died Saturday evening. He was 80 years old and had spent 33 years on the Supreme Court. Rehnquist's death opens a rare second vacancy on the nation's highest court and gives President Bush, whose election Rehnquist helped decide, an opportunity shape the makeup of the court for years to come.

If that guy was already so conservative, how would it make any difference? Am I missing something? |

Anyway, whether you know it or not, you want conservative judges on the Supreme Court. I don't know if there has ever been a time that a president got to nominate two at the same time (except when it was first formed). |

The word is piqued. The reason you want conservative judges on the Supreme Court is because conservative judges give rulings with the intent of the Constitution, and don't try to rewrite the law with their liberal bullshit, trying to make names for themselves. For example, liberal judges are the ones that say screw the law, let gays get married. Now, while I could care less if gays get married, the laws need to be changed before that can happen. And one liberal judge saying it is okay is not the way to do it. |
