Whats the best way to find models?
 

Seriously,
I'm in Cincinnati, OH. The land of conservative freaks, old people and really hot chicks.

I see a lot of people in areas overseas or in Vegas. Is that the only place to find hot models wanting to be featured in their own paysite?

I really want to find a few models for some sites but am having a hard time trying to figure out the best approach.

Any tips?

i have that problem sometimes also ... you just have to go up and talk to them ..give them a card that is general modeling and then you can talk to them later and explain that you only have nude work right now ... this way you don't freak them out as a perv or something on first approach ... AaronM seems to have the recruiting thing down pat ... i wish i had an approach like him ..but i guess it comes with time ... :thumbsup

Put fliers on windshields in malls

that is a great way to get models, there is no harm in handing out a card, also try some sites like www.onemodelplace.com and www.mercermodels.com, you might find a small handfull there also.

i saw one in victoria secret buying about 20 different outfits. i gave her a card and she came in to do a shoot 2 days later. you can almost feel them out. also helps if you are with a female.

We just are honest with them from day one. No BS. We sell the dream!

Do you have a weekly rag in your neck of the woods? Something that might be considered kinda "lefty"? I used to place ads in the New Times Weekly in Phoenix. Here's the routine.

1) Place ad that reads something like "Nude modeling" or "figure models needed" or something along those lines...but careful! Remember, depending on what you're shooing, you may be breaking local laws...paying two people to have sex in front of you while the tape is rolling is pandering everywhere but Los Angeles. LOL

2) Set up meets. For every 10 girls that repsond, 7 will be totally worthless...so get ready to be let down.

3) Be professional at the meeting, and set it up in a public area. OK boyfriends to tag along.

4) The following quotes are general...may or may not be more or less depeding upon numerous factors (did that make sense?)

nude/softcore/toy play - $75 to $100 an hour.
hj's - $100 to $150 a scene
bj's $200 to $250 a scene
g/g $300 to $500 per girl...sometimes more
b/g $500 - $900 per girl...dudes? well...outside LA $100 - $150

Don't forget a set, have at least bottled water for actors, and don't forget yer 2257!

The business card with a neutral "Model Recruiter" title does it for me. Also compliment them on there face and body parts. That's really just giving em a hint of what you're gonna propose. Like M. Vega said, Rear em in when they call you. You HAVE to know how to talk to them and offer some nice money.

Yes, you should be honest but you are not selling a dream. I usually don't try to "sell" anything. I give people information and options. Pros and cons.

Honesty, meaning that we do not lie and try and tell them they are doing ARTISTIC NUDES, etc. That way we wil not waste our time with some prude girls that just want to be famous like their favorite model on tv.

No one likes to have to wasted their time because time is money.

Being honest means being honest all the time. And the HONEST truth is, MOST girls will not make much money doing this, for one reason or another. Is that the same dream that you are peddling?

We may sure that the girls we work with get paid weekly. We also try and get them a rev share deal as well. We need them to be happy so they will send us their friends. We tell it like it is.

The Dream....
Not having to work a 9-5. Getting paid to get photos taken. Spending your days working out to look good in front of the camera. Getting your name out there.

Honestly, I'd almost rather pay someone else to find the girls, shoot them and deliever the exclusive content to me.

I thought, if I just offered $500 a day and shot a full 8 hours of pics, how many photo sets could I get in an hour, different outfits etc.

I even thought about touring strip clubs, but most of the Cincinnati clubs have fat chicks and girls with scars lol

I just want to find two great looking models with that little something extra and try out two new sites. Then I could start my network the way I've always wanted and get the ball rolling with 3 sites.

If any of you shoot content, let me know what you would be willing to setup with me. Here is what I need:
2 models to start
50 photo sets of each model in different outfits.
Models must be brand new and exclusive to me.
Non nude/topless. (The likes of Katie Fey, Divinity18 etc)

If I can find the right provider/girls/price I'd like to get started right away.

There are a lot of different methods out there. Some work better than others, and Aaron M had some good tips in a post some time back.

For me, I have business partner handle that part of it. I used to, but no longer as I spend all my time the production and marketing end of it. I leave him to talking to the girls, and working out the schedule (phone call tag).

We've used local college paper, internet, word of mouth, clubs.. both night/dance, and strip. If you are going to use a strip club, then go on amateur night.

That is when new 'talent' is trying to win some kinda contest, where only the winner makes some money (atleast here) but obviously you have others willing to get naked for money. We do not shoot hardcore, so it's an option for them. However, the quality at times can be lacking as a lot of these women we've found are on something, tattoo'd up the ass, and greedy.

As someone else said, for every 10, 7 are worthless. That is true. You might get a lot of interest, but getting them to show up at a shoot AND give you what you need is a whole different ballgame. In my experience, I'd say out of every 10, you might have ONE keeper. You might get a few others, but then they don't work out.

We made sure to have business cards for my partner printed up that have the company name, url, and all that so that he has a more professional look when talking to new models.

All this being said, they most successful out of all the options, with minimal grief is to get our current models recruiting their friends. When they bring in their friends, we pay them a 'finder's fee', or give them a bonus. Some model's taste is complete shit, but some always bring in the hawties. They bring in people they want to work with, or be seen with.

The better looking models are vain. Which means in my expereince, IF they are going to do something, they want to be with another pretty girl not just anyone. Some want to only do it with their friend(s). Doing it this way has brought us high quality girls, and also made it a lot nicer in dealing with the whole recruiting thing.

I've found woman trust woman moreso than some guy giving them a pitch. So they will listen to another woman, or their friend before listening to me or my business partner. There is always that trust issue.

For the record.....I do not now nor have I ever claimed to be number one at anything. I'm a mediocre photographer at best. There are a few people on this board that can recruit and or shoot circles around me.

Every time somebody makes a comment like that, people assume that I agree with the statement. I don't.
