This shit is soooo fucking cool. Freakin' whale came up with a bitchin' way to own seagulls. Then teaches other whales how to do it.

I never knew whales ate birds. Except Killer Whales that ate penguins.

I hope she patented her idea.

Yet another piece of evidence supporting animal "culture." Chimps and monkeys have long developed regional cultures (ie., localized ways of solving basic problems).

That would be very cool to experience and see as a researcher. It does really show that alot of animals are alot smarter then we as humans ever give them credit for.

Acacia Technologies today said they will be suing the whales as they own the patent on eating.

The first time i went whale watching changed my view of the world. I can't imagine anything more majestic.

I thought they owned the patent on breathing? Of course they argued that although involuntary breathing is PRIOR ART, their patent covers VOLUNTARY breathing :winkwink:

killer whales are amazing. cool as hell to watch them hunt. when i used to live in Kodiak Alaska i saw them many times chase sea lions into the harbor so they are trapped and when they jump out of the water onto the floating piers/docks... they will jump right on top of them and snatch them right off and drag them back into the water. its really impressive to watch them organize and work together to execute a strategy.

Now I wonder if we could do the same thing with ass to mouth?

One girl does it and another girl watching it begins to do it.

With such large brains, I would have expected them to be allot smarter than that....
