I don't see why they'd blame the Republicans, the fucking Mayor is a democrat lol :2 cents:

Even the Governor is a democrat :1orglaugh

Bill8 09-03-2005 01:30 PM

So I suppose republicans never spin anything to their advantage?

aico 09-03-2005 01:32 PM

And they should.

WarChild 09-03-2005 01:33 PM

Democrats need all the help they can get.

Let's blame Saddam. If he'd have just given up those WMD's we wouldn't be in Iraq right ? :)

Umm how can people really say this?
I recall most of the elections being fairly close, this typically would mean a large number of people in the other party.
Now it is true they are a ballless party right now.

Tat2Jr 09-03-2005 01:35 PM

Yeah, there definetly isn't any reason to put this on Bush or the Republican controlled congress. Just because they're in control, it still somehow is probably the Democrats faults like EVERYTHING else that goes wrong. I mean for the love of god, Bush was busy trying to tie Iraq to WWII during the first day.... how can he be responsible at all?

pocketkangaroo 09-03-2005 01:36 PM

I think the blame goes pretty equally around. It seems like everyone from a local to federal level was clueless.

I agree, time to stop pointing fingers and time to help these people.

After Shock Media 09-03-2005 01:39 PM

Serious question since I do not know just yet (will google it in a moment).
Who is in charge of FEMA and how did he or she get their job?
BTW Was FEMA placed under homeland security like many other organizations?

Once I have those two answers I will know who should get a lot of blame.

I'll tell you why. Democrats do silly things like nominate John Kerry to run. I wouldn't be surprised if the silly buggers nominated Hillary Clinton next and then all stand around stunned when she loses.

When the Republicans rebuilt their party, they came up with a message and then nominated someone who embodied that message; Ronald Reagan. It appears to me that the Democratic party recently has been nominating a candidate and then trying to build a message around that person. It's not working.

Clueless lately, yes. Doing stupid shit yes. Not coming up with a vision or overall message, yes. Dead, nah not yet.

No, not dead. I originally used that word in my post and then edited it out. I think asleep at the wheel is a better term.

It seems to me, and I'm not expert, that beating George W. Bush in the last election should have been fairly easy. The anti bush sentiment in the United States (and around the World) was very strong. Nominating the most Liberal Senator, from Mass. was just about the dumbest thing that could have been done.

What if the Democrats had nominated General W. Clark? How could Republicans have said he doesn't understand millitary and what's going on in Iraq? They couldn't have. I'd imagine that while not perfect a career millitary man would have very few skeletons in his closet. Seems like he was the clear choice to beat Bush, and yet he didn't stand a chance.

At that point in history with the democratic party, it would not have mattered who the nominated truthfully.
The party at the time lacked any balls whatsoever and the truth is the republican party has figured out how to discredit and or sell nearly anything.
Hell they were able to discredit Mccain afterall, run him through the mud, talk shit about his family, then sell him or still supporting bush.

pornguy 09-03-2005 01:54 PM

Everyone is going to use Katrina to their advantage.

"Reality Check

Mayor and city of New Orleans is the second most important area of responsibility and blame.

New Orleans is a poor city -yes. It is also Democratically run by African-American Democrats.

Suggestion: Over 1 million tourists per month visit New Orleans. With proper planning by the city and a $5 Bed tax on each tourist the Mayor of New Orleans could have had a much better Disaster Plan for his residents."

What the fuck does that have to do with what I posted?

My stupid ass republican christian neighbor is already blaming Clintons penis. She said if Clinton wasnt busy getting his dick sucked he could have reinforced the levy's. The republicans are notorious for using disasters to their advantage, they exploited the fuck out of 9/11.

AdnerAdvertising 09-03-2005 02:18 PM

Where was the Democratic Mayor's Disaster Plan?

How was he going to evacuate the 120,000 poor from his city?
What plan did he have to House and transport them?
What has he done with all his tax money? Did he divert it to other priorities?
Why wasn't every New Orleans School bus lined up at the convention center and Superdome ready to go on Tuesday morning before those buses got flooded by the levee break ?

Unfortunately, THE DNC and other Black politicians are making this into a race issue and that is not fair at all. Politically motivated in a horrendous National Disaster. Shame on them.

Kerry had no skeletons in his closet except the ones the Republicans grew from whole cloth using their typical character assassination win at any cost no matter what it costs the country or how sleazy it is tactics. Look at what they did to one of their own, John McCain. There is NOTHING the hypocritical moral majority loving conservatives won't do, no depth to which they won't sink, in order to win an election.

They somehow made a war hero seem cowardly while they elevated a chicken hawk to war hero status. Doesn't matter how venal their sins or how transparent their propaganda, people like you will always be around to eat it up.

The democrats won't make hay out of Katrina. What they should and hopefully WILL do is make hay out of the incompetent response of the current administration, particularly an underfunded FEMA led by Bush's unqualified college buddies.

FEMA is a FEDERAL agency. Disaster relief is a FEDERAL task, that's where the resources are to deal with this kind of thing, that's what they collect taxes for.

Of course conservative scumbags won't hold their precious rich boy president accountable for his fuck-ups here, just like you didn't for Iraq. Just like you won't for his next fuckup.

It doesn't really matter how incompetent and hypocritical your leaders prove to be, does it? From 'Cowboy' George Bush to Wild Bill Bennett to Newt Gingrich. They can be caught doing ANYTHING and it just won't matter to you. You people are like Michael Jackson fans.

Mayor was too busy whining to do anything

DaddyHalbucks 09-03-2005 03:34 PM

No question.

Bill Clinton let 800,000 people get slaughtered in Rwanda, and 250,000 get murdered in Bosnia, and the press issues virtually no criticism --but the feds are a few days slow in responding to Hurricane Katrina and GWB takes a much harsher pounding in the press.

The hypocrisy and double standards are sickening.

Kerry had no personality. Thats why he lost. It's no more complicated than that.
