And I think recent history also played a role in it. That was the same arena - The Palace of Auburn Hills - where the Pacers and Pistons had that big brawl earlier in the season.

So the level of tolerance is probably around zero in the Palace for incidents like this. and the jail time was to send a message to other fans who "drink and throw."
