How many people will sue the government ??

I wouldn't be surprised of class action law suits - individual suits etc... against local, state, federal governments.

I also would not be surprised if one of more of these cases made it to the Supreme Court level....

What do you think?

What exactly do you think they would they sue for? I'm not sure what kind of case anyone would have.

bdld 09-02-2005 09:16 PM

they have no reason to sue, in fact they should be grateful

It's not the governement's fault if they didn't leave the city

Quit thinking logically. Some shyster will come along, sign up a bunch of other idiots to represent, litter the courts with worthless paper, make a name for themselves and get some cases where they can actually make some money. Meanwhile, the original idiots the shyster represented will be blaming everyone else because they are idiots.

It all takes time to put these efforts into place..especially if people are shooting at the them..like fuck the aid is going to pour into a hostile situation. They have to contain the hostile situation first..This project will take at least 3 weeks to happen and years to rebuild..consider this sad situation as one of Bush's triumphs or failures depending on what he does to help rebuild

Yeah I would think there are a bunch of shark lawyers that are already planning !

pocketkangaroo 09-02-2005 09:54 PM

They will sue and our government will settle. Lets face it. Our tax dollars go toward paying for emergency services, and when they fail, we can sue. Same goes if you call for an ambulance and it never comes and someone dies.

I've been watching the news on CBS and BBC on our satelite connection. The US is not getting the full story. It seems to be improving though.

The US reacton and planning to this disaster was bad at best and negligence would be easy to establish.

It was known Katrina was coming, known about it's strength, known where it would hit and if the authorities did not know the damage it would cause, then what are you paying them for?

The pre planning was inadequate, the initial response was appauling. The US is the richest most advanced country in the world, it's response to this disaster will show how well it looks after it's own.

I'm NOT saying that the gov is not responsible for the deaths because of their "slow acting".

I'm saying they cannot really be sued ...
