Okay that's the question: does softcore sell? I was pretty skeptical but now I'm not so sure. We just opened a non-nude/semi-nude site and I'm pretty impressed with the conversion rate so far. We got a join on about the fifth visit after it went live. These pics are basically the raciest pics on the site:

So what do you guys think? Has too many years of easy access hardcore content started to turn off a lot of surfers? Is softcore the new hardcore?

I'm not so sure they even need to be ultra hotties. That's what we are trying for but I've been checking out a lot of the "soft" solo girl sites and some of them just ain't that hot. But they still have a bunch of guys drooling over them.

Yeah I guess they qualify as softcore. I'm thinking more of the tease type sites though. The kind with the occasional tit and rarely a non-explicit glimpse of the pussy area.

I think that the main factor with non-nude/super softcore is the retentions. If the model is active inside the members area then the members will sort of "bond" with her and keep paying to be her "friend". Plus honestly the softstuff is WAY more realistic. How many of the surfers would EVER be able to see some hot chick spread the pink? The non-nude/softcore girls are something that they "could" get.

Softcore convert decent if it is marketed the right way. However 'harder' softcore convert much better if you have a mix, like on a TGP.
If you want to keep the members, you need a lot of updates, good photos/photographers, and very attractive models. Sites like Met-Art and Galitsin are good examples. If it is a single girl site, 'she' should be interactive.

I've sold softcore VERY well since 1997. I haven't ever promoted hardcore.

I forgot to mention one thing. Shooting these girls is CHEAP. Less skin seems to equal more money in the producers pocket. Which means a smaller cost to operate which means bigger profit.

One good thing for frequent updates is that we are shooting at least 4 sets for the price we pay solo models for our hard sites to shoot one set.

teens & softcore do not sell. especially softcore teens. there is also no money in SEO.

I have operated http://www.dianajameson.com since 1996. My site has 50,000 pics in the members area with approx 10,000 hardcore and 40,000 softcore pics.

The members area uses copermine database software which monitors every time a picture is viewed. Quess what? In the top 100 most viewed pics only 4 are hardcore!!

You just have to make sure you get the right traffic and have a well designed site with regular updates.

Bobbi Billard has run a successful softcore site for years with a huge fan base. She looks like a porn star, but keeps it classy. You'd be surprised how many guys prefer NOT seeing a woman's face coated in jizz.

Good point, but I would consider her site to be more in the glamour niche. A little bit different but still softcore. I guess that shows that softcore does cover many of the same niches as hardcore.

Softcore doesn't sell at all. There are just thousands of people pushing softcore as a hobby. I spend most of my day pushing softcore just for the fun of it.

True! There are a lot of busty babes with softcore sites, but it is definitely a glamour Playboy style rather than "amateur teen in her bedroom" style. And a few years ago if somebody had said softcore I would've thought about cheesy soft focus Cinemax movies. :1orglaugh
