Moral question about the hurricane and porn sales
 

OK, I have this idea. I have already donated some of my own personal money to the Red Cross, but I thought of a way to get porn surfers to donate as well.

What about putting something on a join page that says "x"% of the revenue from their sale will go to the hurricane relief? Maybe 50% or something.

My only question is if I tried this and my sales went up because people want to help and also get some porn, would this be profitting from the hurricane, and therefore bad? Or would it be a good thing all around? People get their porn and they feel better about it, and I give even more money to the Red Cross than I already have.

Maybe GFY isn't the best place to ask a moral dilemna...but I thought I'd try.

I'm not one to give bad news (IE -Hey people are dying and starving and don't have homes) to my surfer when his dick is in his hand. It's fantasy, and an escape from reality. If you want to do that I'd suggest doing it, but not mentioning it until they're inside the members area.

I thought of that too, but then isn't going to go get your credit card and punching in the numbers already a bit of a buzz kill?

It is, but it's not 'bad news'. Like during the election... I kept my political views off my pages. I didn't want to piss off half my surfers. Don't get me wrong... I think it's a great idea. I just personally don't mix political or Humanitary stuff in with my sites. I like knowing that it's a place where my members can come and escape their lives, and the pressures of the day... not remind them of it. It's just my point of view on how I run my business.
