How come his loud mouthed ass isn't out there telling people to calm down and stop the violence, rape, looting, etc? I think he may be at home, sucking down some okra and chitterlings, realizing that the residents of New Orleans just took a step down on the racial equality ladder by, ummm, let's say 200 years...

The Rev. Jesse Jackson arrived in Louisiana on Thursday to help people evacuate the storm-ravaged New Orleans area and to see the devastation Hurricane Katrina has wrought on the city.

Jackson was headed into New Orleans with state Sen. Cleo Fields and three buses to move 450 students from Xavier University to safer locations outside the city and then make repeated roundtrips throughout the night to help others escape.

Wake up you moron, New Orleans is a city that is 70% black, and is one of the poorest in the country (in terms of major cities). Had the same type of tragedy happened in some "white" city the exact same thing would be happening. The looting is the result of needs and survival, not the result of race. Why don't you take some of that energy that you are using toward your racist attitude and get out and donate like a rational and thoughtful human being should. My contention was that this is not a normal response to a disaster situation. While the article expounded on this and offered theories, it did not refute what I was saying.

How did I blame it on race by pointing out this is not a normal occurance in this type of situation? The poster contends the exact same thing would happen anywhere in the same circumstance but research refutes this. That is my point.
