PLAYERS BALL artist - who would you pick - Kid Rock or Nine Inch Nails or Snoop Dogg

We're very close to securing our artist.

There's a very good chance it could be any of these artists, we've had discussions going back and forth with all of these options.

So who would you like to see at this Players Ball?

Kid Rock, Nine Inch Nails, Snoop Dogg or Ludacris?

They're all very expensive, the order that I wrote these names is the order from highest price to not as high a price.

I know any one of these selections would be off the hook, just want to see what GFY thinks.

Ice 09-01-2005 04:50 PM

Kid Rock all the way....

JuiceMonkey 09-01-2005 04:51 PM

serious? Kid Rock is more than NIN? How much is Luda?

NIN is $125k plus hotel and airfare. Unless they take my offer which is less then that.

Kid Rock is at least $150k unless he takes my offer.

With our event, it's very appealing to come down a little in price.

Luda is around $80k plus hotel and air.

RevSand 09-01-2005 04:55 PM

NIN or Ludacris would ROCK! I would take a snoop but those two are the top right now.. They would be very different shows and I would perfer the rock show since I love NIN.

a1ka1ine 09-01-2005 05:13 PM

id prefer NIN but i think snoop or ludacris are more aligned with our industry :)

Elli 09-01-2005 05:15 PM

I love NiN, but as far as a hip party atmostphere goes, I think Kid Rock would be more appropriate.

nin would be very intense

poppet 09-01-2005 05:18 PM

NiN or Kid Rock. Both of those would kick serious ass. :thumbsup

wedouglas 09-01-2005 05:19 PM

NIN would be awsome.

Quotealex 09-01-2005 05:20 PM

NIN all the way

JuiceMonkey 09-01-2005 05:20 PM

I didn't know Kid Rock was so popular

Young 09-01-2005 05:21 PM

All of you mutts that have shown your racist colors over the past week shouldn't even be allowed to attend this event.

Anyways...

NIN or Snoop Dog. Go all out rock or go smooth laid back.

Juicy D. Links 09-01-2005 05:22 PM

Kid Rock !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

D-Money 09-01-2005 05:24 PM

And for the record, Snoop is actually $150k plus hotel and air, but since I got him for $50k less then that last time and we've had talks for the last 6 months about this, it looks good that I can get the deal done for the same price as I paid in 2001.

I think we have a DJ picked out, besides DJ Evan.

Anyone know from Clinton Sparks? http://www.clintonsparks.com

He's the #1 mix tape DJ in the world right now. He did Eminems mixtape, and he's in with 50 Cent, Ludacris and every other rapper out there. He'd add a very hip cool element to this party. I'll keep everyone posted on that as well.

And I'd be very happy to do Kid Rock or Nine Inch Nails. But like every year, it all depends on who will do it at the price we can afford. And that's IF they'll take an off tour date. Usually I try for Kid Rock and other rock groups, but fate takes it's course and we get a hip hop artist. Just know I'm trying hard to make anyone one of those happen and we're about to find out who it will be.

Fuck American Idol and INXS Rockstar. They need to do a show on the next Players Ball artist!

I've known he'd be the perfect artist to make our crowd happy, but in past years there were reasons why it didn't happen. Maybe this will be the year, who knows.

Clinton Sparks! he's homegrown talent. In my college days he used to spin at a little tiny club here in Boston call Di Nos amongst other places. I saw him market himself from nothing all the way to the person he is now. Cool guy, great DJ. He splits his time now between Hot 97.7 Boston and some radio station in CT.

Good choice :thumbsup

Thanks, glad to see someone is hip to him here.

I'd like to think I have my finger on the pulse of hip hop.

We've had some great talents perform in the past including DJ's.

Kid Capri, DJ Green Lantern, DJ Muggs are some that come to mind.

But this year it would be great to have the champion mix tape DJ perform, he's #1 at the moment in the world.

And MixUnit.com is my client.

MikeVega 09-01-2005 05:36 PM

I'm dieing to see snoop ....but i think Kid Rock would be tons of fun ... he's a good mix of rap and rock and i think he would play to the crowd a bit more and even be more approachable ... a maybe wrong but he seems like a regular guy in that way ... very Pimp ... snoop speaks for him self .. he's king of Pimp and would be a great show ..i missed the first one ..... NIN is one of my favorite bands but just not sure it would fit with the theme .... unless you changed the theme to be a bit more goth fetish ....i'd love to see Trent also ... very hard choices ..

Basic_man 09-01-2005 05:58 PM

Man, it's all about rap. So Snoop Dogg or Ludacris, they are both good :thumbsup

Joesho 09-01-2005 05:59 PM

NIN is definatly the shit

Juicy D. Links 09-01-2005 06:01 PM

Can you get Bon Jovi instead?

Juicy D. Links 09-01-2005 06:01 PM

or TKA also would be nice.

Jace 09-01-2005 06:08 PM

no offense, but kid rock and nine inch nails have nothing to do with the "players" theme....plus kid rock is a little too country for it anyway

nine inch nails is cool, and they rock live, i saw them on their pretty hate machine tour and this most recent....but i wouldn't go out of my way to a players ball if they were playing

now ludacris on the other hand, shit, d-money knows how I feel about my ATL peeps....if you got ludacris, it would not only fit the theme of the event, but also probably bring on a whole new vibe to the event...ludacris has this aura about him that screams for people to have a fun time, no matter what race or background

Jace 09-01-2005 06:11 PM

and and as for clinton sparks....very cool, choice man, very cool....

get clinton sparks, ludacris and 1 international banging electronic dj for the late night, and you have yourself a fuckng party!

DavieVegas 09-01-2005 06:12 PM

d money,

ludacris would be a great pick. The dude rocks concerts. I have been to a few. Plus he has never been picked in the past for the players ball. He will really represent!

killerkay 09-01-2005 06:13 PM

kid rock is easily the best one i've saw him in concert he can play any god damn instrument on the stage and hes a hick!

ricks 09-01-2005 06:17 PM

For the money, how can you beat Ludacris? I mean he's half the price and will draw the same or more than any of the others.

I'd only consider NIN and Kid Rock if they came down a little in price for this event. So the 2 more realistic choices would be Snoop or Ludacris.

But Kid Rock is also friends with my MixUnit.com client and Clinton. So we have some interesting angles.

Ludacris really wants to perform at this Players Ball and is available if we want him.

I like to ask people in GFY in threads like this to get some input, make sure I get the best available artist for our audience. GFY isn't an accurate means of polling, but it does offer great sight. Feedback is always good.

mahoney 09-01-2005 06:35 PM

NIN or Kid Rock All the way :thumbsup

punker barbie 09-01-2005 06:37 PM

I would be a total fucking groupie if NIN was there! OMG you have no idea i am the BIGGEST fan.

My second choice would be Snoop, i've never met him face to face but i've seen him at parties i like the way he rolls. :)

Somebody who truly wants the gig will generally give the best performance. :2 cents:

Lee 09-01-2005 06:49 PM

NIN would be my pick.

uncletim 09-01-2005 06:54 PM

Kid Rock definitely....

Tat2Jr 09-01-2005 07:03 PM

I'd show up for NIN. I love rap, but not live.

Ramos 09-01-2005 07:05 PM

Snoop.....There is no question

Well, Snoop wants it the most out of all of the artists. He's performed at our Ball before and had the time of his life. He still watches the video from that night, I made him a DVD a while back. The question is whether he'll drop 1/3 of his price because he wants it that bad. And you have William Morris taking a piece too. I happen to think he'll take it at the lower price and give another classic performance. But I'm keeping all options open.

Luda wants to perform and has agreed to a price if we want him, that's a good back up plan to have. I love Ludacris and I know he's perfect for this type of event.

And by the way, because ANYwebcam was able to commit to a MAIN sponsorship a month ago, their money is the reason we're able to secure artists of this size. So thanks AWC, everyone click my AWC banner in my sig and show some love. They also have at least 300 Players Ball passes to give to people of their choice. Passes will be tough to come by, so show them some love now and secure your pass through them.

See sig.

modeljenhilton 09-01-2005 07:18 PM

Kid Rock does an amazing show!!!!! I would strongly urge you get him on the bill..

V_RocKs 09-01-2005 07:27 PM

Prefer Snoop, would settle for Kid.

NIN just wouldn't work for the atmosphere... Book them for an Extreme Paychecks night...

Lud I wouldn't even consider...

Anya 09-01-2005 07:28 PM

NIN :thumbsup

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 09-01-2005 07:38 PM

NIN I think would be best.

It would redesign the tempo of "The Players Ball" and change it up showing the diversity of this industry. I love R&B and Hip Hop/Rap but it is a little played now after 8 years.

I think it would be a good time to show the diversity this industry has by switching it up to something Like NIN.

We've set aside some passes for hot industry ladies.

This year we have a new thing called, "Talent Passes".

We've listened to RonC and RogerV. They like to bring hotties to events and our players love having hotties at the Players Ball.

So We're making up passes that will be printed in hot pink and it will say "for ladies only". If a guy even tried to use that he'd be super clowned on at the door and never get in.

Hit me up if you'd like a Player Code to register for a "Talent Pass".

theplayersball at gmail.com

Other hotties feel free to hit me up.

D we're hugely excited about being involved with the PB, and are honored to be able to help with bringing the biggest and best talent to the biggest and best party :thumbsup

For what it's worth my votes for Snoop :thumbsup because, as has been said already, I think he's the best fit for this party's atmosphere ... but more then anything we want the WM's to enjoy it!

lagwagon 09-01-2005 07:42 PM

Snoop, then NIN

I think Kid Rock would fit in fine ...he has some rock beats but really plays up to the Pimp / Hustler theme ...not his new shit but everything before the country kick he went on ... I'm pretty sure he would be doing songs like early morning stoned pimp ....not the one with Sheryl Crow ..
