I saw a press conference earlier and they really toned down the looting and everything else happening saying they didn't have much information about it but they would provide any information if they got it.

I didn't hear the lie from FEMA....unfortunately, those who 'count' got out....I get the cynical feeling that those who are left are far down the chain ......but, Mr. Bush DID fly his plane lower on the way home from his vacation....I guess that's something that will lift their spirits.

I'm seeing people in the shelters, on the interstates, etc. getting food and water. Unfortunately the shooting at rescuers has prevented many from getting to where they can get food and water. Not exactly FEMA's fault.

Shit, they had a qoute on cnbc from the head of New Orleans city emergency operations(not sure of the exact name) and he said they hadn't even seen anyone from fema in the city since the hurricane. Basically he was saying the head of fema was lying about being on the ground in the city.

FEMA just take orders... :(

Has anybody accounted for anything in the last 6 years? Why would they start now? This whole thing sickens me, what was the point of Homeland security if they can't take control and get shit done in the time of a national emergency?

They knew this storm was the big one and should have had the army reserves ready to move into the city as soon as the storm moved out. This just shows that with all the BS that comes out of the Bush admin, they still don't have plans in the case a major US city was attacked by a nuke or anything of the sort.

They have no intention of really getting them out.

I hope, they are also lying about those rape cases.
