Isn't this a pretty sad and overworked topic to use for sig views? At any rate, try getting your facts right before mouthing off. Governments, organisations, charities and the UN have in fact offered help. If it is not actually received, it is most likely because as George Bush said today, the United States can take care of itself and did not expect to tap contributions from foreign countries.

Many countries have offered aid... Heck, even the Canadian army (which is not technically an army but is instead geared for peace keeping / humanitarian missions) was prepared to come down with a minutes notice BUT too bad Bush turned them down.

I would wager that the Canadian Army could be fully deployed with water purification units and safety centers within 24hrs. We can't fight any country but we should can make the booboos feel better pretty damn quick :thumbsup

The Netherlands offered help for the dikes BEFORE Katrin would hit it...They were in NO, and gve suggestions for improvements. However, the ppl in charge there, said the Dutch were to strict about certain issues, and they were thanked, and send away.

Now those ppl in charge in NO, are asking help again....And yes they will come again...So what is wrong with our help?

I donated money to the swedish aid group "Läkare utan gränser" think they are internationly called Médecins Sans Frontières after they where on Swedish radio telling that they are gathering a team of doctors and nurses to help out. These doctors work for free on catastrof sites all over the world and are doing a incredible work.

Dont know though if they have recived a OK from the american gov to come over and help :S
