Americans are less civilized then third world countries.
 

All this disasters made me believe that americans are less civilized then rest of the planet. It is interesting to see how the system works perfectly in good conditions, but once some disaster happens, it becomes a total chaos. People lose it so fast. I wonder how this country would look like if they had 10 years of chaos like Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and other eastern european countries after the split of USSR, which was a complete disaster. I bet it would be 1000 times worse.

No, it would be about the same. What do you think would happen in Paris, if a Cat 4 or 5 hurricane slammed into them. The same thing that would happen in China, or England, or in Moscow. It is called Human nature, SURVIVAL! these people think that this will help them survive

I think what saved russia from pure anarchy, was that it used to be a Communist country, and people still believed the government would take care of them.. even when they waited in line for 5 hour to get bread.. not even Africans would be so patient as the Russians was.. it was unbelievable

Just the 9/11... 3k people died. Big deal. Hey, there's as much people dieing months after months from disasters on the planet. Difference is americans just don't give a shit, except when it happens to them. Then medias make it so fucking big it's completely ridiculous.

I'm not saying what is happening with Katrina is a good thing, it's very sad for all the people in USA, but on the other end, you are perfectly right... imagine the north america in civil wars, natural disaster for a few years... we would go completely mad and people in Russia would look like angels.

1. As PR_Tom said, it's pretty narrow minded to paint a picture of AN ENTIRE NATION simply by watching a 2 minute video footage loop on CNN...

2. Check the statistics of New Orleans...the area has a very high poverty rate...I don't see how what's happening there right now translates to americans being less civilized thAn ppl in 3rd world countries.
