how come we can clone people/animals but not oil?

You'll have to excuse my ignorance on this, i always used chemistry class as my napping hour but why is it possible to clone animals and supposedly humans but we can't clone things like oil?

when you clone a animal, or a cell, you plant the cells in a host, and that host grown in to the new clone.. its not like in batman, where you put one sheep into a magic box, and then ZZAAPPP it becomes two sheep's when you push the big red button - that only works on GFY... bbaahhhhhhhh!!!!

Machete_ 08-31-2005 11:17 AM

what im saying is, you cant "grow" Oil

there other alt fuels bio diesel for one, it would be a boom to farming and get us off the arab tit but as long as you have a admin owner by the oil companies you got problems

One reason why we (probably) can't do this is because we may not be able to artificially replicate the conditions necessary for the molecular processes which ultimately produce oil to occur...

From my understanding, oil is the product of decomposing ancient single celled organisms. This is the exact opposite of cloning if you think about it.
