New Orleans Saints to play in ...

San Antonio for the regular season.

I would have thought LSU Tiger stadium would be ok by then? Damn, how long will Baton Rouge be down?

San Antonio seems a bit far, however I am sure all the options were examined.

Watch them win the Superbowl this year.

The stadium will be ok.... but odds are, the fans wont.

It takes fans to fill stadiums to buy beer and etc to pay football salaries

I think people in New Orleans have more important things to worry about than Football.....

Well the saints owner has ties to the San Antonio area that is why they are going there

GatorB 08-31-2005 08:07 AM

So you are going to play LSU games on Saturday and have the field up to NFL standards on Sunday?

EroticySteve 08-31-2005 08:11 AM

My friend who has Family in Baton Rouge said it's pretty bad in parts there too.

Yep, that is true.

GatorB, no, I don't think it would be up to standard, I just figured they would want to keep it in the state, even in the Northern region.

I had no idea????

Where do the Tigers play?

I know from going to games the venue certainly can hold an NFL crowd.

I'm in baton rouge and we had some downed trees, not much flooding, we got off easy in comparison. It's not as bad here as some make it seem

So more or less, the construction is the main reason?

Honestly, I thought for sure they would use it.

yeah, the stadium will seat around 94,000 now with the new additions, they built up the one side a few years ago and they're extending the eastern side and adding new press boxes and training facilities, etc etc. Was supposed to be done by now but they got a little behind schedule

North Texas Game (9/3) was postponed, but they were planning on just seating folks on the western side for the games until the renovations are done

its part of the reason, I live literally like 500 feet from the stadium. (I can hear the PA announcer clearly during games i'm so close) we didn't get much of anything here, no flooding, some winds but not too bad, i had some damage to my house but not much and the stadium as far as i can tell didnt get any damage at all. I think theyre also using the stadium as a partial base of operations for FEMA and make shift triage hospitals but I havent been able to confirm this for sure. But as for Katrina having any direct effect on it, thats not the case, mainly the construction
