iBill-Cathy, what about the check-box issue?
iBill-Cathy, IBill's new representative on this board, can you answer my question that I've been e-mailing to various reps at Ibill?
My emails go like this: Re: Idiotic Decision to Steal a Dollar from Every Customer I am writing in the hope that I am one of hundreds or thousands of emails with which Ibill will be deluged. I am an adult webmaster who participates in numerous RevShare programs. This new checkbox you have on your join page is outrageous. It is HURTING YOUR BREAD AND BUTTER CUSTOMERS, the adult webmasters. No one about to join an adult site wants to think about missing and exploited children. This is dumb, dumb, dumb. Did I mention -- it's DUMB! Go check out what people are saying on webmaster boards, particularly gofuckyourself.com. Webmasters are going to flee Ibill in droves to go with one of your competitors. At the VERY least the default on the checkbox should be to have it unchecked. With it checked, you are basically stealing in my view. |
she aint gunna read this.
WHo are you fooling. Her visit here this morning was a fly by. |
Yup, else she would probably have noticed and replied to the 50 "Ibill is shit" threads... :ak47:
|
She's a marketing person -- I wonder if she knows what a checkbox is... ;)
|
hmm let see now... a stupid check box that makes absolutely no difference in sales vs. a company crapping out because of VISA regualtions.
you think ibill really cares about the needy children in fucking Kambodia ? hell no.. they only do this donation shit to increase the number of transactions vs. number of chargebacks etc... So give it a break since there's already been 13094820394 threads about this and nothing will happen if we all just bitch on GFY. |
Good Morning-
First of all-thanks for the feedback....and yes, I know what a check-box is! Wanted to take a few minutes to explain our Webpledge program and why we did it. I also want to apologize for not communicating the program or our intent before launching. iBill has partnered with two children's organizations that directly support their safety and exploitation. Both of the organizations policies are in line with the card associations rules and FTC regulations. Our intent was to create some goodwill on behalf of iBill and our Webmaster community. ALL money will be donated to these charities. Also, the $1 charge falls under a different merchant account and credit card descriptor to help clarify that it's a charge not related to the website purchase. You will see later this week a press release on the wire announcing our partnership with these organizations. In the future, we will be opening this program up to other charities that you will be able to choose from. Going forward this will be an optional program for our clients. You will now have the choice to offer the program to your consumer base and will also have the ability to select whether it's an "opt in" or "opt out" program. Please reference my name "Cathy" when you call client service at 1-800-764-4266 and they will work to have the change implemented in a 24 hour period. Our development team will need to manually adjust each master/sub account. Hope that helps-Cathy |
it is all fine,,, but making it prechecked is not a good idea

"hell no.. they only do this donation shit to increase the number of transactions vs. number of chargebacks etc... "
... and thatīs exactly the point why they are doing it, because nobody is going to chargeback $1 ... so neewwman, if you are still using ibill itīs to your own benifit. "Our intent was to create some goodwill on behalf of iBill and our Webmaster community." ... for sure, that is exactly why I am offering a leaving member the hole stuff for 5.95 once he cancels his 39.95 membership ... just to show some goodwill. |
At least now somebody from Ibill is responding to questions here, good. I'll sure get the Ibill people to remove precheck from my site.

You must be kidding isn't it ??? |
If you don't want to give, just uncheck the box...Most of you act like it will take a act of congress to uncheck it. Just do it and move on. It's not a big deal!:winkwink:

Whats next, Ibill is going to save the whales and solve world hunger. Give me a break.
I can say the lack of communication from Ibill recently has been ubsurd. I would imagine we are in the top 1% of Ibill clients, and we can not even get our issues resoved in a timely manner. |
brad just in case you donīt know it, you ARE the most valuable client at ibill !!
... hmmmmm, somehow I am missing darrenīs globil spam in this thread ... where are you ?? |
If adult webmasters wanted to help children, it would be the children of a well known and loved adult webmaster that died in a car accident recently... She raised these kids herself -- and home schooled them herself (her free time and income came from her running adult websites)... now she is gone and her children have no parents...
http://www.chainstyle.com/memorial.html http://www.fosters.com/obits/2002/ja...s_01_10_02.htm As terrible as this story is, how many of the webmasters that knew Jeanette are really going to "interrupt" a porn surfer's wank session with such a sad story? It's not appropriate and makes no sense. Horrible things happen every minute of the day -- but nobody wants to be reminded while holding an erect penis and signing up for a porn site. If you want to help children -- go volunteer your own time and your own traffic. Where are the ads to help children here? http://www.ibill.com/ I didn't think so... Fucking hypocrites. |

I was also wondering how much IBill flat out donated of their own money to the organizations in question. |
First of all I think it is important to help the children.
Bravo I-Bill, Bravo! Children are our future. For the price of a cup of coffee we can feed little Sanchez Jr. for just 85 cents a day. Just 85 sents. Come on people, where is your human spirit! Children must ALWAYS come first. |
