Could this be legit?

Got this email in:

We are pleased to inform you of the result of the of the General Netherlands State Lottery International programs held on the
25th of January 2002. Your e-mail address attached to ticket number ********** drew lucky numbers ***-***-**** which consequently won in the 2nd category, you have therefore been approved for a lump sum pay out of 500,000.00 Euro,
CONGRATULATIONS.Your prize is now under the custody of our Security Department. Due to mix up of some numbers and names, we ask that you keep this winning confidential until your claims has been processed and your money remitted to your account. This is part of our security protocol
to avoid double claiming and unwarranted abuse of this program by some participants. All participants were selected through a computer ballot system drawn from over 50,000 company and
50,000,000 individual email addresses and names from all over the world. This promotional program takes place every year.

Then it goes on saying who to contact w/ contact info & when I have to claim my prize by, etc.

Could this legit? They're not askin' for anything more or anything. It just makes me suspicious.

What do ya think?

Do some background checking on them.. whatever you do, do not furnish banking or CC info.. tell them you want a mailed check..

Clovis 02-15-2002 07:12 PM

Yes of course its legit. They also have about $100,000,000 in a Nigerian bank for you and I have some very valuable bridges in Brooklyn and some nice property just offshore in Florida that I can let you have for a very special price

eRock 02-16-2002 04:44 PM

Sheesh! I guess I gotta be more careful w/ what I ask around here...

Due 02-16-2002 05:25 PM

I got a mail from someone a few weeks back that wanted to transfer $30 million to me. When I wrote back and said that I accepted western union transfers they responded they never send more than $10 million at the time with Western Union and that it was very childish to say such a thing.
But I don't care. Because the same day I bought a membership to a site that have the eliksir of eternal life. And it is real. The guy that invented it got the nobel price for keeping life in a chicking heard for 30 years :thumbsup
