bllott 08-30-2005 11:35 AM

exactly.. that money can't buy you happiness is something poor people say to excuse their inability to make money :thumbsup

dynastoned 08-30-2005 11:36 AM

amen....

ricks 08-30-2005 11:36 AM

The people I know with money seem to all be happy. I guess it depends how much money you have. If you make a million a year or more you should be happy most of the time, provided you arent incarcerated.

StuartD 08-30-2005 11:38 AM

It sure can rent it for a little while. :winkwink:

Agreed, believe it or not I got in this argument with somebody on welfare not too long ago. I don't normally lower myself to talking to poor white trash, but she made some anti-semetic comments regarding the shape of my nose and the luxury car I was driving and I had to put her in her place, she cried not too long after.

Jakke PNG 08-30-2005 11:40 AM

I know filthy rich people who're unhappy because one reason or the other. One for example is an alcoholic, and can't help it, it has ruined his marriage made his son hate him for all the nights he has come home drunk..and money can't cure that, you can buy an S-class mercedes and drive it sad, it beats driving a skoda but not happiness.

People are either happy or they aren't. I know people who were miserable w/o money and are miserable with it too.

woj 08-30-2005 12:15 PM

In the famous words of whoever...

Money can't buy me happiness, but I can buy whatever I want, whenever I want...get ____ whenever I want! LOL I think that's how it goes. But regardless, I agree. I am happy when I buy things :P

It depends on your definition of happiness... what satisfies one person, may not satisfy another.

You are a meanie.

When are you coming back down to SFLA? So we can do the double threat of Jew and Asian? :)

Mr. Soul 08-30-2005 02:34 PM

Money is an aspect of happiness. Of course if you're struggling to pay your bills you're not going to be able to focus much attention on the good things in your life. Money is not everything though; you could have 10 billion dollars, but if you don't have a good family and your wife/gf is only with you for your money, you're still not going to be happy. Of course you can buy yourself a lot of shit that will give you temporary satisfaction, but I personally don't think someone can be happy based on mindless consumption alone.

EroticySteve 08-30-2005 02:38 PM

Happiness doesn't pay for my many luxuries that enhance my happiness.

Money only brings out who you are even more. If you're someone who likes to be depressed about shit, you'll probably find shit to be depressed about once you get money. If you were happy before you had money, chances are you will probably be a little bit happier with it, simply because you don't have to worry about a few things.

But money doesn't change people, it just shows their true colors.

chaze 08-30-2005 10:42 PM

Depends for Alex P Keaton it does,

Some people like money like it's a hobby.

I had a custom monopoly set made for me on my 10th birthday, money has always been a hobby for me, even before I knew how important it is.

With that said my first rule in life is to never lever money effect my judgment outside of business. :)
