Hysteria aside...

"Acosta's stated goal of prosecuting distributors of adult porn has angered federal and local law enforcement officials, as well as prosecutors in his own office. They say there are far more important issues in a high-crime area like South Florida, which is an international hub at risk for terrorism, money laundering and other dangerous activities.

His own prosecutors have warned Acosta that prioritizing adult porn would reduce resources for prosecuting other crimes, including porn involving children. According to high-level sources who did not want to be identified, Acosta has assigned prosecutors porn cases over their objections."

Like all agendas before his, this won't last! :pimp

Mr Dickovitch 08-30-2005 09:44 AM

Nobody notices that this 'article' has no real source to it? It just says some 'agents' said that the government was going after porn with no names mentioned.
:error

That same article was posted on Law.com with the title:

"U.S. Attorney's Porn Fight Gets Bad Reviews"

Two snippets that highlight the stupidity....

But should porn be a priority in a place like Miami, where serious crime is rampant? "It's all part of the same thing, of the organized crime syndicate," Sharp said. "It has an effect on children."

--------------------------------------------------------------

Sources say Acosta was told by the FBI officials during last month's meeting that obscenity prosecution would have to be handled by the crimes against children unit. But that unit is already overworked and would have to take agents off cases of child endangerment to work on adult porn cases. Acosta replied that this was Attorney General Gonzales' mandate.

---------------------------------------------------------------

So again they want to attack pornography between consenting adults, under the guise of "Protecting the children" when it's apparent from the statements above, that they're actually willing to offer children less protection in order to further their own agenda.

DOJ owned by law.com . Feals good ... They will get owned. The public love porn too much to change their habbits

TheGoldenChild 08-30-2005 10:06 AM

This is why Bush is not endorsing .XXX
They will all look very foolish to the rest of the world when people see that money and time is being prioritized for fighting porn instead of the War we have going on inside and outside of our country with terrorists
Not too mention not enough people to fight on behalf of the kids- and going after pedo's

One group in Mississippi is all it takes to get the Born Again's riled up-

Funy those people who are so G-d fearing and religious are the same ones floating down the street right now-

Hopefully they all can float into a church and ask G-d why they are living in standing, infectiouis water now surrounded by Fire Ants and dead people.

I say you go to the Family Association's website:

And submit a prayer request that these nutjobs would stop obsessing about porn...

I completely agree with you KB. If the President were to come out with guns blazing supporting the .xxx measure, every single news station would pick it up. Then you have the O'Riley Factor, the Hanity and Colmes, the CNN news breaks, and every other sorce having arguments and I can see it now:

"two people having an argument about terrorism with some hippie saying make peace not war, and the next thing you know when the pro-war/anti terrorism side of the argument would be shot to all hell when the hippy simply brings up that while soldiers are dying, the President is going after pornographers."

Lord...I pray that these Christian Fundamentalists will stop trying to use your name to further their agendas.

Please allow them to see that THEY are not God and that they are in no position to judge anyone.

If people could stop with all the hating, perhaps we can all live in peace and jerk off to tranny porn if that's what we choose to do.

GFY! AMEN!

Rinaldo 08-30-2005 10:33 AM

Bush has nothing to lose, he got himself a war, he's in teh books forever, so what if he fucks up and goes after pornographers, he wouldn't lose his historical edge on all of us.

Manowar 08-30-2005 10:33 AM

"Women are the victims."

Its not always about the historical edge, sometimes its just about what the Republican party sees as important.

That's right.

TheGoldenChild 08-30-2005 11:14 AM

Porn is not against the law.

Child porn is.
Spamming porn is.

if chrisitian fundamentalists have problems with sex, erotica, and what consenting adults do with their minds and bodies they should complain to the manufacturer, not the government.

I agree with your agreement and comments. We provide Constitutionally-protected adult entertainment by/for consenting adults---we providers and the consumers pay taxes, vote, etc; can anyone here come up with a way for us to rally the consumers (and us!) and the media and elected officials to force DOJ to immediately cease/desist all their ongoing and planned actions against legal adult entertainment and instead used those assets to go after the terrorists and crime??? Ideas??????????

Dave
