Anyone have an IBM Thinkpad?
I have an HP DV1040 which is a complete piece of heavy multimedia laptop shit. I need something to take with me on the go.
I'm looking for something thin, lightweight, and with some good processing power with not much extra crap. Only thing I need really is wireless internet card, and a cd burner for backing up files. This thing is going to be used for site updates (HTML, light Photoshop, light Premier). Anyone have any experiences with IBM thinkpads? Or is there a better way to go? I'm a cheap ass so I'm looking for a cheap solution. Thanks |
Until I saw the cheap bit I was going to suggest one of the Sony sub-notebooks.
Very nice bit of kit... but def not cheap. |

Mine got stolen a few weeks ago, was a ThinkPad T40, p-m 1.6 ghz, 1 gig of ram, cisco 802.11b wireless, light less then 5 pounds, about 4 hours of power. Great little machine, I miss it :(

Try for one with an xBlack screen - very hot. |

i have a t41p, not cheap but its great. light weight, small and does 1400x1050. no complaints. Sony's are cool looking but if you move them alot they fall apart quick. Me and a partner bought ours at around the same time and his sony is basically fucked while my ibm is mint except for a scar when i dropped it drunk (which alone means alot, the hd survived).
