Not Even Safe From the Hurricane In The Superdome?
Hurricane Katrina is even tearing away some parts of the Superdome roof? :(

Why does this remind me of this thread ??

its totally ridiculous how they are playing this.
the superdome is constantly being renovated and the roof is always being worked on. this is no surprise, its like they show outsiders a glimpse of New Orleans and the world panics. look, the dome is stronger than Rome Coliseum. CNN has been playing it as if the dome is about to fall. seems the fear they sell really works, because you guys buy into it very easily. its like the only thing they show, SUPERDOME SUPERDOME SUPERDOME - when in fact, even my grandmothers roof is leaking. MOST ROOFS LEAK DURING STORMS OF THIS SIZE my grandmothers siding is also coming off the house, just as most homes are losing shingles etc... this happens EVERYTIME THERE IS A HURRICANE, but let CNN report it and boom - the world starts to panic. |

you make a very good point. As far as domes and stadiums go the superdome is ancient. so it really should not come as a surprise that the roof is having trouble in +100 mph winds. i think they are overblowing it too, because they hyped the superdome as THE one place to go to be safe without a doubt. so when it had trouble they hyped it into a story. your point is well taken. |
