HBO's "Rome" sucked!
 

I kept watching it, hoping to get better but it never did. They got an army of untalented, anemic, pasty face actors playing the part of B.C. Roman gladiators with thick British accent and thin, flabby arms. The story line is bland and the dialogue is even weaker than the actors. What a let down after 6 Feet Under.

I was really looking forward to that one! HBO usually produces some great stuff.

Btw anyone seen "Over There"? Not sure if or when it will make it to 'over here'. War dramas are such great sunday afternoon hangover cures. :)

Unfortunately there is only one more episode of Entourage to follow Rome. The best part of Rome was in fact Entourage directly following it.

Fortuantely there will be Deadwood again soon. New episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasm are only a few weeks away. Sopranos should be back this winter too.

I'm holding out for Curb your Enthusiasm and Deadwood.

The british accent really got on my nerve (No offense, I love the british accent in movies like Snatch etc...totally cool...but in HBO's Rome?? why..)

I just finished watching the 6 OZ seasons (didnt really got into it when it was airing)...I have to admit it was a fucking great prison drama...except for the last season...which sucked....

not sure what to expect with Prison Break...

doesnt matter which accent you give them....it's an american show....they could be using american accents...

But it sounds like you want the show to be as authentic as possible so perhaps they should be speaking latin?....

You're the one who came to this thread with the "authenticity" arguement...fact is, they dont speak english in rome...

I'm definitely going to wach it, but it seems like a very limited premise. That and Reunion both seem limited in what they can do and the depth they can have.

Fox needs to bring back shows like Strange Luck, John Doe, Firefly...

HBO needs to bring back Carnivale.

hmm I just read the show description on TV.com...seems like you are right about the limited premise .... thought it would be an all-out prison drama like Oz...

I havent seen Rome but I just wanted to say that americans make awsome movies / shows dealing with american history but every time you guys try to deal with history other than your own it sucks.
