Ibill Is A Pile Of Shit!

I've been doing some testing.. It looks like Ibill (at least for my sponsor) is dropping the Revshare ID for CC purchases..

If they signup to pay by check the Revshare ID gets tracked....

INPUT TYPE="HIDDEN" NAME="REVSHARERID" VALUE="RevSharerID"

Anyone else getting this type of behavior?

[Labret] 02-14-2002 09:56 PM

Im confused a little. I checked my revshare page and when I viewed the source after I click thru on one of my revsharers page and I got:

input type="hidden" name="RevSharerID" value="poonholio"

For checks and credit cards. Its tracking.

Are you using a third party program to track your revsharers? Or are you just someone sending to a revshare program?

Post the page you are click thru from so we can see.

Jamie 02-14-2002 10:13 PM

Lab,
was that for CC as well as Checks?
If so then your working, I'm the lucky bastard to get fucked!

Ludedude 02-14-2002 10:16 PM

I just made a similar discovery...the iBill cookie wasn't being carried for 1000's of hits to a join page so the revhasre ID wasn't just blank...the whole damn field was MISSING!

Simple solution: Get permission to host the join page on YOUR OWN server and hardcode the hidden field containing the revshare ID into the join page.

Problem solved.

Fuckers :BangBang:

[Labret] 02-14-2002 10:17 PM

Yes, cc as well as checks.

But since I run revshare programs I have a vested interest in what you are saying.

What page are you clicking thru from and what are they using to track revsharers?

Could be a linking problem on behalf of the sponsor. You could have cookies turned off. Sponsor could be straight ripping you off. Before you go blaming iBill, you should snoop around.

Post the damn link damnit.

Are they using ccShare by chance?

Id be happy to do that for resellers if they asked. The reason its not common to do anymore is because most webmasters wont take the time and resellers used to complain about that method. Everytime we redid our tour they had to download a zip file to update the layout on their site. Maybe I will offer it again just to see whos interested.

Just ran some of my own tests.

Cookies are on, Per-Session Cookies are on.

Direct from the source of the check page

input type=hidden name="reseller_code" value=""
And from the CC page

Quote:

INPUT TYPE="HIDDEN" NAME="REVSHARERID" VALUE=""

If you are serious about your check processing, take a look at http://www.achdebit.com.

WE HAVE NO 3RD PARTY CREDIT CARD RISK!

** We can do any price trials... even free trials.

** We offer Canadian ACH from the same join page. (don't know about your traffic, but most of our clients see 10%-20% traffic from Canada)

** We will be validating checking account numbers in real-time within 1 month (this will cover 50% of the DDA accounts in the US. This means much lower returns and less "free-loaders")

** We have the largest negative and positive database of Adult ACH on the 'Net. We do not limit any throughput unless we are sure that it is no good.

** We offer a Loyalty program on cancellations. You can offer your members the chance to stay on at a reduced rate. If they do not accept, we direct them to the URL of your choice.

** We offer a Cross-Sale program upon sign-up. If you have a premium site or would like to cross-sale with one of our other merchants, we will allow cross-selling under our rules of full disclosure.

** We don't charge you unless the funds are collected. There are NO other fees.

** We have an in-house collections department that goes after bad check writers. We collect the funds owed to you and add them to your settlements.

** We automatically convert non-ACH entries into paper drafts, deposit them and add them to your settlements. What is your current check processor doing with sign-ups that are originated from non-ACH institutions such as many credit unions??

** We have the ability to let you pay out your partners on settled check funds instead of pre-authorizations.

** We can handle any type of partnership or pay-per-sign-up program and will even pay your partners if you like.

** We introduced ACH to the Adult 'Net and have 6 years experience in ACH processing on the Internet.

Checks us out and see what some of the largest paysites have to say about us.

Hey guys, the issue of cookies, affiliate code parsing and tracking has popped-up over on tgp2board. RockDaddy posted this to the thread:

http://www.action-porn.com/ubb2/Forum1/HTML/001407.html

--------------------------------------------------------------------
I emailed CCBill about it and this is the reply I got.
Dear Webmaster,

While I'm not sure what the exact percentage of surfers have cookies enabled, we do realize that this could be an issue and we also offer a way for the webmaster to pass along the affiliate code into the signup page through a hidden code. Feel free to contact our support department if you would like assistance on how to do this.

This is how they say to fix the problem.
Here's the information that I have from Jeff T ([email protected])...

The webmaster can pass along the affiliate code into the signup page he would capture it like this

<INPUT TYPE="hidden" NAME="ccbill_referer" VALUE="%%ccbill_referer%%">

he would insert the code into the signup page.

also he would have to edit the form before that to pass in the referral number

Feel free to contact Jeff directly if you have any further questions on this or if this doesn't make sense.

Thanks!
Alex

Looks like it's mostly on the sponsors part to do this.

RD

Better keep an eye on those CCBill join pages also (for referring webmasters).

Exactly!!! The RevshareID (or PartnerID) value is getting LOST!! You're not getting paid using iBill's cookie method...at all.

Sleepy: Cool bro. Nice that you'll allow that for your partners. I was doing it for a long time with one account so never missed anything there, but lately with other iBill clients it's been fucked...signups in the shitter and now I know why.

By the way, credit where credit is due: Shianna is the one who made me run the tests to show me wtf was happening.

Jamie 02-15-2002 11:09 AM

I don't appreciate the fucking spam in this thread. We know about other 3rd party processors.. so shut the fuck up.

We are trying to determine if Ibill is dropping the Revshare ID for both CC and Check payment methods.

Jamie 02-15-2002 11:12 AM

Okay so I built a page that hardcodes the revshare ID and passes it directly to Ibill's page.

Ibill is still dropping the Revshare ID or just ignoring the variable.

Anyone else try passing the revshare ID as a hidden value to Ibill?

TheFLY 02-15-2002 01:45 PM

I don't get angry very often -- but it's shit like this that makes me want to break bones... Jesus I've been losing 30%+ of my income for who knows how fucking long...

Kimmykim 02-15-2002 02:37 PM

I've already addressed the CCBill coding issues in the other thread that RD posted that email to, so I'm not going into it again, but I'll keep posting about it in that thread if there are questions.

Try passing it as "PartnerID"...that's what I did and it works. The CC signup form changes the value to something other than that, while the check form keeps it as "PartnerID" so it might have something to do with what you call the field.

I do it this way and it works fine so make sure your syntax is correct etc.
